I recall comments a while back about construction techniques that do not naturally produce this effect so the run-offs are added later.

yeah, insane , and rightfully proud of it. This is the grail of Chambrays

Nope.  That it the case with garments that do not use a chain stitch construction.  Faux chain-stitch run-off is added post sewing. 

ALL of Haraki's stuff is chain stitched with proper vintage chain stitching machines (where chain stitch is required or utilised).

We leave faus for lesser mortals.

Pre-soak

Simon is a lucky man.  He lives about a mile from me.  So he came around yesterday and snagged am IHSH-21.  He soak tested it (well saved me the bother ) and got some quite serious shrinkage.  I will make sure that the pre and post soak sizings are up on the web page when I build it, but Haraki has gone and given us a nice raw piece to play with....

noooooooooo, i sized down to an xl on this because of the sizing on the other new shirts.  i hope it makes it around the beer cooler after a cold wash. . . .

This shirt is awesome, the detailing and construction are exquisite. I have other Japanese selvage chambrays but the IH blows them in to the dust! My wife tells me it makes me look slimmer too.
