The jacket is everything I wanted and more. I've been complimented three times on it, two by strangers, and I've only been wearing it for about an hour. It really stands out...it's comething you would expect in leather but it's material is very different from what most people have seen. The red lining in the pocket peeks out just a bit and catches your eye. I think the best part of the jacket is the corduroy lining in the pockets, I just want to rub my hands on it all day.

By the way, my 634S is my favorite pair of dungarees, amongst 10 japanese nice ones (from skull to evisu or LVC/Lee re-editions)

first encounter with IH: my postbox couldnt be closed after the jeans had been lodged in there. i was surprised that you send these things just in a plasticbag, i guess they are sturdy enough,hahaha. the tote they came in was a nice extra surprise, cool!
then i just had to try them on......my first impression was: f*** these are too tight,damn i cant even sit down without getting rashes,
hmmm--- i decided to trust the brand and your sizing guide and soaked/ washed them a week later.
so this is the first day im wearing them and thats my comment on IH and your service:
1. absolutely unwearable presoak/wash =)
2. postsoak/wash these jeans turn out exactly to your sizingguides, perfect! the hemming job is perfect as well
3. marvelous quality, great sihlouette, great attention to detail and just incredible denim! i feel it soften in with every step
considering me being an absolute newbie in heavy weight denim, this is a very positive experience, you have a satisfied customer here, thnx!

I received the jeans, I thought I would give it a night or two before I answered. And I would have to say the quality is unsurpassed & excellent attention to detail. You get what you pay for, and I doubt very much that Iron heart can be topped. There is Japanese denim, BUT then there is Iron heart. I haven’t worn heavy duty stuff like these since the seventies. I wouldn’t say that it is a chore breaking them in, or a labour of love, but rather the “rites of passage”. You know when you have quality when you have to wear them in, like top class hiking boots, or a custom made saddle for my horse. You buy these stiff as an iron board jeans, with a severe case of rigormortis, but then you bring them to life & make them your own. Give them shape, form & character.
Japan is experiencing a renaissance at the moment, & companies like Iron heart are leading the way, some people say “it’s only a pair of jeans”, but for the cultured minority, know it means a hell of a lot more than that. And anything less would be too much of a compromise.

Here's to another perfect interpretation of an iconic American pant by Haraki-san and Ironheart! These are exactly as described--tough AND comfortable. They fit perfectly (as usual) and every detail has been carefully thought out and executed, from the triple stitched in- and outseam to the size and cut of the double front. The hickory stripe fabric looks just right with all of my flannel shirts, too. Many thanks to the Works crew in Tokyo for the chance to experience yet another example of excellence from the mind of Haraki.

I cannot believe the speed with which these jeans arrived, I was expecting them tomorrow at the earliest, and yet they arrived at 10: 30 this morning.
Am wearing them now, I cannot believe how hardcore the denim is. It took me ten minutes to button them up, but they are already feeling comfortable and are moulding to my shape beautifully. The fit and length are perfect, so thanks for all your advice.

As for the jeans - man, they are tough! The real thing. I have been expected something like this but my expectations were much exceeded. This is a piece of cult - art of workmanship in every sense. By far a better investment than throwing away EUR 300 for a posh logo on a back pocket of a mass produced badly bleached piece of feeble rag they proudly call “designer jeans” - that's what I think. |

The jeans just arrived! I saw via the EMS web tracker that they were at the local post orifice branch, so I ditched work for the day. They were delivered just as I finished a grilled ahi sandwich and an ale...great timing. I have to say that the quality is, again, unmatched. I've come to appreciate so many details, the size and location of the rear pockets, the flared buttons, the depth of the watch pocket (I've got pocket watches from my Dad's father and uncle (Sinclair Flaws and Magnus Flaws--they were big, ornery old Scots working for the railroads in Chicago), the length of the stitches and the color and weight of the thread, the color after a couple of soaks, the way the outside leg seams lay flat (when they don't, I find it annoying), the consistent fit, and, not least, the smell of a whole box of them. Very well done. Of course, I'm in a pair for the balance of the day.

I came off my bike the other day; nothing too serious a few repairs to the bike and a bruised ego! It’s all part of the fun! Anyway... I thought that the guys at Ironheart would like to know, I was wearing a helmet (obviously!), a manmade fibre cloth jacket with integral Knox body armour, and a pair of Ironheart jeans. I hit the road hardest with my right knee, followed by my right elbow. The helmet is a write-off, the jacket needs some minor repair and the jeans are absolutely unmarked. This is particularly noteworthy when the only place where I sustained serious bruising (apart from my ego of course!), was my right knee.

I just received my 21 oz. Ironheart 634S jeans today--all ten pair of them! It took all of three or four minutes to get the box open and a pair on. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of fabric and workmanship. These are what denim was meant to be. Impressive softness & comfort for such heavy fabric.
Color not as dark as evisu, mainly i guess because thread & weave are very thick and not weaved as tight as evisu (fortunately, else we could not fold the knee !). Very nice moired effect between dark indigo and pure white.
Very nice construction also, even if I am a little bit disappointed by 2 minor things : back-pocket rivets are not made of silver ? (fabric is not about to be scratched to unhide them, but...) and too bad that back-pocket are not lined.
As a summary : amazing and very special jeans. I'm very happy with them (and also because it's not another pair, just heavier : it has a really different aspect)" |
