The 24 today on the comfy OEM rubber.

That's quite the homologation.

If they made a bronze flieger with no seconds hand, a He escape valve, on a pin and collar bracelet with fake rivets, a bronze relief count down bezel, a distressed dial with faux aged lume, and a cyclops over a roulette date, with at least 5 lines of text, in 45+mm, I think I might have a stroke.

Moser have form in creating horological mashups. I'd suggest you avoid their press releases for Baselworld next year! :D

Definitely wise to try it on before purchase. I found that the lugs on this beast hung over my wrist.

That's why I want to try one on. I don't have large wrists but I usually wear a gigantic Seiko diver, so I think the downturned lugs and the size across the wrist of the BP might work, as it's surprisingly reasonable in that dimension and the strap goes straight down from the lugs. I wish there were a boutique near, I may try to hit a jeweler in Dallas Monday to try one on while I'm there. I had hoped there would be one while I'm fishing in Cabo next month but it looks like Cabo and Mexico City are the only places in MX.

I don't care for the Bathyscaphe so it's either this or back to other options on my list.

Thanks gents.

Are you OK with the size? I like the watch very much but have held off because of the 45mm size...I draw the line at 44mm.

The calibre seems solid.

So many awesome divers...so few wrists:)

Me too, the monochrome GMT is especially cool. But for $2k less you can get a Grand Seiko spring drive diver on the secondary market.

Question to the forum: anyone have experience of Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms Automatique in steel? I've long admired it from afar but have not had the chance to experience in person. It is on my short list. Any reasons it should or shouldn't be?

I hope I did not offend. In-house movements were adopted as a market differentiator and for brands to remain relevant...hello Panerai.

As to the article itself "Luxury Science" is hardly new, but it is to the watch industry.

How does that affect the content of the article?

I read a little and stopped when I realized they use hidden text for their SEO. lol.

I don't entirely agree with the writer, but this is an interesting piece on why in house movements are so popular.

No leaking from Rolex, but my speculation is in no particular order: new movements for the subs, maybe a new Milgauss, but the Rolex Explorer II is in need of a ceramic bezel and the Air King is in no-mans land.

Is anyone familiar with Seoul and watch shopping there? In particular: Shilla Dutyfree Main Store or Shinsegae Department Store.

Her's and his from the other day:

Fret not over plexiglass crystals. Polywatch cleans any scratches in a breeze.

That's a good looking watch, @Anesthetist.  The plexiglass crystal would concern me, though.  But I'm uncoordinated and probably bang into things more than you do.

Hey @scooter - congrats. If you're wanting one of the modern steel Rolex sports models it is unlikely that you will get one through an AD (unless you have a prior VIP relationship). Rolex Geneva are throttling their global distribution à la Hermès and are ending relationships with AD's in lieu of more Rolex boutiques.

That sucks.

Which model are you after? As @Manticore suggests your best option may be through the gray market or through a private seller on one of the watch forums (be sure you know the specifics of the watch and buy the seller).

Happy hunting:)

Questions for the watch guys..... If I am looking for a Rolex, and I'm most interested in one that is not offered in the current releases, what is the recommended route to take to acquire the one I want ? Are there any recommended shops I should look into ? What are the places I should stay away from ?

My 50th birthday is at the end of March. I want to treat myself for this one. Lord knows, no one else is going to.  :D

This one today, and now it's time to figure out what I'm getting for my 50th birthday this summer.

I'm thinking more vintage Rolex.
