Both your posts make me very pleased I grabbed these jeans. I’ve been wearing mine constantly for the last couple of weeks and there’s already this nice hint of high-contrast blue showing in some areas. The rise also causes lots of creasing around the upper thighs. I can just tell the whiskers will look amazing a year from now.
@tvenuto your photos look like they’re fading almost to a kind of silvery grey. I hope this is a realistic representation and I’m looking forward for mine to evolve like yours.

I um’ed and ah’ed over the Large I bought in this shirt, but the fit is just not right and I should’ve gone for the XL, which are unfortunately sold out now. If it had fit, this may have been my favourite IH shirt that I own, and I spent ages trying to convince myself it fit. If mine fitted any near as well as @Wlemon ‘s i would have been very happy indeed. Will try to get an XL from R&H.

Cheers mate! The 888 cut is easily my favourite fitting pair of jeans I’ve ever owned. Every dimension feels like it strikes a great balance, and looks neither too slim nor too loose. I’m eyeing other iterations of the 888 for the future. The fabric is a winner too: nice and crispy, pretty dense indigo with just a little bit of the brown weft showing through. It stretched out nicely in the waist, they are a very comfortable pair of jeans indeed. Can’t believe I was almost gonna send them back!

Welcome - I'd say you look like you fit right in. Great choice of UHF for the first post also :)

Cheers man, this shirt is such a beaut, I pretty much wear it every day I can at the minute  :D

Got a large. Risky as it might be slightly on the trim side. Hope it works out. If it does, I’ll have to hide it for a few months or my wife might just kill me. It’ll have to be my guilty secret.

Now for a self-imposed Iron Heart ban for six months while my bank account recovers. :(

Nice one guys, think I’ll go for my usual size with the intention of using as a shirt.

@Wlemon shirt looks great, did you size normally or go up? I’m in two minds which way to go for this...

*took a large.

“Took a brown” sounds sounds like something else entirely...

Really tempted by this. Large looks good for a nice trim fit, XL would probably work if wearing as outer layer but might be too long. @Sam is my baseline for shirts, would he take a Large?

Any estimation as to how warm this will feel? I’m guessing similar or slightly lighter than a UHF? Also as this is Navy, am I right in thinking this isn’t going to fade?

It is Navy, not indigo, and probably reactive dyed. So fading like denim won't happen no. Judging by the measurement, I strongly suspect Sam will use Large. Moleskin is traditionally wind resistant and quite dense. I'd imagine this to be different to a UHF but nearly as warm

Awesome, I’d want this shirt to stay looking just as it is with minimal fading. I just noticed the page for the brown version of this shirt where the measurements are similar and Sam indeed took a brown.
Think my mind has been made up on this one. Will be poised at 1600 tomorrow!

Thanks for the helpful responses guys. @neph93 , you’ve convinced me to keep them and see how they settle in. Not that I needed too much convincing as I bloody love the fabric. Also, the reasonable price plus a gift voucher I’d forgotten about made these an absolute steal, so I really wanted them to work! Once these get beaten up I’ll post some more pics, and will branch out into more IH denims. Into the wormhole I go...

Here’s some fit images. Please forgive both the quality, and the graphic display of dad stomach. What do you guys think? Keep or return?

Received a pair of tag size 33 yesterday. As this cut is an unknown quantity to me, especially the high rise, my size selection was a bit of a shot in the dark. Every dimension is pretty much spot on for me, except for the waist which is causing concern. I never felt I had a fat gut, but these jeans are making me reconsider! The top button does up quite easily, but it’s causing a bit of belly and love handle overhang. Beautiful! It’s not loads, and isn’t noticeable under a T-shirt (I believe)

I’m anticipating about an inch of stretch to the material, which would definitely make them fit better around the waist. I don’t think the slight overhang will be completely gone tho. If I were to size up (which isn’t possible as 34 is out of stock) I think the other dimensions would be less favourable.

So, my question for guys who own this cut but maybe have a bit of excess padding around the gut, how do you size this area? Is this cut only for guys with rock-hard stomachs?

I can (reluctantly) post photos of the fit around my gut if needed :'(
