Really small changes in measurements. Can you really feel a difference?

The combination of shoulders and sleeve length lost, and Adam313's wet sleeve setting process, fixed the arms for me without affecting the chest. This was a follow up to his recommendations from a week ago. Yeah the measurement changes aren't too interesting, but I have them and someone may benefit from them.

@spitfiredealer It's just wetting and wearing to affect the fit. I really like the jacket and wanted to make it work.

Decided keep the jacket. I used the recommendations of @adam313 and the shrinkage info from @@the_bourbon_denim_guy to create my own shrinkage plan: I did a wash cycle on warm with a medium spin cycle, 5 minutes on medium heat in the dryer to warm it up, then put it on and crushed the arms as far up my arm as I could get them, then wore it like that for a half hour, occasionally flexing my arms in front of me to work the creases and stretch the P2P, then hung to dry.

The goal was to limit the shrinkage in the chest area but try to get a little out of the rest, the combined shoulder and arm shrinkage was satisfactory, the wet stretching increased the chest measurement to a better measurement for me:
                Before/After
Shoulders - 20.5 / 20
Length - 28.2 / 28
P2P - 25.0 / 25.3
Opening - 22.8 / 22.8
Sleeve - 29.5 / 29.2
Sleeve Opening - 5.3 / 5

My coworkers dressed as me for Halloween today (I'm third from left). Noteworthy things: mustaches, black rimmed safety glasses, cuffed jeans, free sports team shirts from Uline.com, far left is imitating UHF, second from right bought a $15 Wrangler shirt on Amazon.

I'm wearing 555-XHS, IHSH-177 with an L.C. King chorecoat.

@The_Bourbon_Denim_Guy has me second guessing my return now... haven't bought that label yet.

7
Another indigo herringbone workshirt like the IHSH-165 please.

In your case, from the pics, there will be creases all the way up, but those can be awesome and unique to your frame. Denim drapes differently on everyone and it's a signature pattern

Thanks Adam, I agree with all you just said, and I'm mulling it over. I think I may throw in the towel, I'm getting some long diagonal folds on the upper arms (visible on my left bicep region) that I just don't want to live with.

@The_Bourbon_Denim_Guy looks great in this jacket

To answer my own question: after trying on over a few different shirts, the answer is no, I definitely shouldn't be desperate enough to rely on the shirt underneath to hold back the sleeves.  :(

BTW - holy shit it is warm.

Sorry... realizing now on the computer that the black door was a poor backdrop.

6'2" - got the XXXL for chest and shoulder measurements assuming layers underneath - perfect fit in this area. The body is a little long. The sleeves are super long. If wearing a long sleeve layer like the IHSH-68, the sleeves of the shirt hold back the sleeves of the SR from falling over my hands. If wearing only t-shirt, the sleeves hang down past my palms. I can't imagine wearing it with only a t-shirt underneath - but I cannot decide if I'd later regret this.

Can I expect some creases to shorten the sleeves with that quilted layer there? Would I be foolish to rely on the shirt underneath to keep the sleeves at bay? I wouldn't be able to fit in a XXL if they were available...

My issue with IH denim jackets is that they are a bit snug overall. If I wear a XXXl shirt that’s 25 PTP how do I  fit into a xxx or xxxxl that has a smaller PTP of 23-24 and a waist that’s proportionally smaller than the shirt I’m
Supposed to wear it over? I only bring this up because @maxpower talked about the opening of his jacket being snug
As someone still without a denim jacket and typically sized XXL/XXXL, this is something I've spent time trying to make sense of while waiting for the Storm Rider... and I still don't know.

Put the roof on my trash can hotel yesterday...  instant knee evo.

@neph93 What jacket or vest are you wearing here?

These measurements make me anxious about the upcoming Stormrider jacket - would you veterans expect the blanket lined jacket to have some more room? I couldn't fit anything other than a T-shirt under the XXXL 101J and really hope to get another layer under the Stormrider.
