Iron Cast / Re: IRON CAST by Iron Heart International

I don't generally enjoy podcasts but I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next one. Engaging content and really great production to boot, great work!

I’m going to guess it was because people saw «serge»
That was sort of my point.  If I had called it denim, it probably would have sold better and about 1 in a 1,000 customers would have been nerdy enough to know the technical differences in a serge and a denim weave and pick me up on it (well denim is a serge weave anyway)....

Put me in this ignorant camp! I seriously considered these because I love my double indigo shirt (IHSH-159) and am one of the people asking for heavy weight double indigo 555s.

I have returned IH goods before but I've never bought something without being sure at the time, correctly or incorrectly, that I wanted it. If you asked me what the difference between my jeans and chinos are I'd probably mumble 'twill' and 'weave' without being sure if they were the same thing. Add into that that whilst I like my Wabash shirt (IHSH-62-IND) it doesn't strike me as jean like and there were just too many question marks for me to take the plunge without seeing them in person.

Shame really because maybe these were exactly what I was looking for.... Perhaps it was the double indigo that put some people off but I'm sure there were others like me who were unsure of Serge.

Given the (seeming) popularity of IH-555-XHSib would you ever consider 25oz indigo/indigo 555s?

How warm would you describe it as? I have a waxed rider which is one of my favorite jackets but too warm most days where I live.

Hard to answer definitively but I had a Freenote Cloth wax rider and I personally view the corduroy jacket as a lighter jacket more suitable for warmer weather despite the fact that they are basically the same weight (11oz for the corduroy and 10oz for the waxed rider). Whilst the waxed rider is not thick it's also not porous, the weather proofing means there's not much air flow. The corduroy certainly isn't thinner but I think the material has better air flow and additionally I think the cut and style is more suited to warmer weather (particularly around the collar).

To put it in context I don't own a jacket that is more suited for warmer weather (I would just wear a t-shirt if it was warmer). I'd put it on a par with a 14oz denim jacket (which is heavier but I think that's a fair comparison given the corduroy is probably thicker for the weight). Hope that's helpful!

IHSH-213 | Medium | USD 175 ||| SOLD

I made some room in my IH closet last year which included selling the only other IH work shirt I've owned as a concession to the fact that they just don't fit me and I have to stick to westerns. That said I couldn't bring myself to sell this IHSH-213. The chambray is amazing and the now no longer available metal cat's eye buttons just look superb. Even as I type this I'm in two minds whether to sell this shirt but the simple fact is I've only worn it two to three times and I never reach for it.

Pricing it, as I've done with other items, USD 100 back from where I bought it at USD 175 which includes CONUS shipping. Pricing is firm simply because I am in two minds whether to let it go but if bought with my corduroy Freenote jacket I would give USD 50 off of the combined cost:

Definitely surprised this one didn't sell. Maybe IH forums just not the best place to list non-IH items, still going to give it a bump anyway!

Any thoughts on a 555 fit? Also I know it's top secret but will these fade or merely wear out (are they sulfur dyed?).

EDIT: somehow missed the 'won't tell you how they will fade' you can ignore this message!

In order:

IHSH-284-IND - 6oz Wabash Short Sleeved Work Shirt
IHSH-285-OD - 5.5oz Selvedge Chambray Short Sleeved Work Shirt
IHSH-285-IND - 5.5oz Selvedge Chambray Short Sleeved Work Shirt

Now it's just the struggle of really liking the pieces versus knowing that short sleeve shirts never suit me.... the 284 is crazy though, half hoping it sells like the IHSH-262-NAV so I don't even get a chance to struggle!   :D

I dont think they are far away now.  So sorry for the extended delays.  The dies Steve had made for applying the snaps were not up to snuff, he had to get them made again...

I'm sure most people that got one of these, like myself, anticipate wearing it for a long time and would rather wait for the best it can be. Don't rush it in my opinion!

My other Freenote jacket sold but this stunner is still available. It was a part of the original 40 brown made with corduroy from Yoshiwa Mills. See Heddel's post below (and their far better photo than I could take!)

If there's one thing I buy too many of, it's jackets. In my drive to reduce the number of jackets I own to a reasonable number I'm letting go of the ones I've barely worn (this one under a week of wear). So it's with great regret and a few misgivings, because I really love this jacket, that I'm letting this one go.

Selling it for $220, $100 back of where they sell for, please see the Freenote link for sizing and better pictures although note that the one I have for sale is brown (which it seems as if they no longer make). PayPal Friends and Family (if Goods and Services please add 3%), Venmo, bank wire or face to face in NYC.

*** SOLD ***

This jacket is totally badass..... I just wish it fitted me.

As someone who's perma stuck between large and medium, I went back and forth on sizes with Freenote and they were just so damn nice that at the end of it I just felt too awkward to tell them I was stuck in the middle. Worn once around the house to the sound of my wife saying 'you know that doesn't fit you right?' and then packed away in the closet.

Let my shame be your hundred dollar gain. Asking $300 ($100 back of new) which includes CONUS shipping. PayPal Friends and Family (if Goods and Services please add 3%), Venmo, bank wire or face to face in NYC.

See the Freenote website for sizing (and better photos):
