General Chat / Re: Iron Heart stickers (what do you stick them on)?
« on: November 25, 2020, 03:50:47 pm »
^been looking at an mx-5 for awhile. not sure if I can ever live with a 2 door. but the RF looks brilliant

Don't hesitate if you're looking for a roadster, the MX-5 is the most fun you can have with a car for $20-30k.
And just like Iron Heart, they're pretty much indestructible. I still see 30 year old mx-5's almost daily.

As long as you're smaller than 1,80m, you'll fit in it though. Any taller and you'll hit the roof with your head  :D
As a daily driver I also have a Renault Kangoo minivan because the trunk is pretty small if this is your only car.

Got one on the back window of my Mazda MX-5 RF, which is also made in Japan so it suits well together  ;)

Accessories / Re: Face Masks
« on: November 17, 2020, 06:56:37 pm »
Since july we are obligated to wear face masks in stores here in Belgium. Since I own a store I have to wear it 8 hours a day, 6 days a week (when we are not closed because of lockdown like now...). So I had to find some that are comfortable. I tried a couple from Troop London, Fleurs de Bagne, etc. But by far the best are the ones from G-Star. Very comfortable to wear, soft anti-bacterial cloth. They use a triangle cord that doesn’t pull on your ears. I think a 5-pack costs €50 and they feel like can last a lot of washes.

I got a little type 3 crazy, but I blame Iron Heart for that. Before getting into the brand, I didn't have any. My first was the duck, actually, and that started the, um, collection (addiction?). From there, I got the 21oz, then corduroy (brown/indigo), whipcord, and now this one. I love them all and they are very versitle. I have a feeling this is going to be the best of the lot, though. However, as I say that, it does feel like picking your favorite kid.

I had quite a collection of truckers and riders before I got into IH.
When I bought my first 21oz I thought this would be the ultimate type iii to end collecting.
Five IH type iii’s and a vest later I think I failed... :-D

The ODG was actually one that I bought in person (from Rivet & Hide). It fitted really well. The problem was, I bought it in July last year, on the hottest day in UK history! So I was only wearing a thin t-shirt underneath. I tend to wear a Large in IH items but bought an XL as it felt like the right fit, so I’m not against buying unusual sizes. I actually think the ODG has a very slim fit (I’ve read that elsewhere and the measurements seem to back it up).

I have learned that I need to think carefully about what I plan to wear under my jackets. It’s ok to have summer jackets but I think I’d wear my next type III jacket in autumn and spring, with maybe a couple of layers or an UHF.

The ODG whipcord is also the only IH I bought in person (also R&H) and I’m glad I did because of the slimmer fit. They suggested to size up to XXL instead of my regular XL. Love that jacket. I can’t wait to start wearing it over my brand new IHSH-33B.

No work today so busy day: while waiting for my Iron Heart package to arrive I washed my car, went for a drive,  had some lunch at this castle and drank a gin-tonic.

Added my contribution to this sale. 3rd purchase within the same month!

Pushed the button on a 555-01OD....within a day I get the notice about the flash sale!

Why not....added an order for the Johnny Cash Western.

Now...the waiting....

Totally agree with that! Maybe next time for me...

I've been wearing a lot of Behemoth shirts lately. Their quality is amazing compared to regular (chinese) bandshirts. Everything they sell is made in Poland. I love that their tags say :"100% satanic"  :D

Finally pulled the trigger on two items I've been looking at for a while :-)

I’m interested in one of these 8oz Kersey jackets but am a bit worried about it being polyester.  :-[
How does this feel? Isn’t it too ‘clingy’ on a hot day over short sleeves?
Maybe it’s a bit comparable to my olive whipcord?
