General Chat / Re: Summer outfits for the ironheartarmy?

This is OFF TOPIC, not wanting to hijack this thread.

Probably our definitions of Wide are different, and I'm using words like 'fad' while I'm not native English. Looked at 634 sizing, seems about right, i have pants a little wider. Yeah maybe fad wasn't the right word.. but before 2010'sh these models were widely worn (in Europe) than the skinny trend hit and in a couple of years wide models disappeared from shops and the streets. I'm not sure if I remember correctly but I think skinny trend became possible largely due to innovation, before (historically) it was easier and cheaper to make wider pants.. Interesting discussion...

wide pants are definitely more comfortable in summer imho :D

EDIT; mixing it up, yeah since participating in DWC I love having just 1 pair of jeans to wear everyday. having worked in fashion for 8 years it was such a relief to not have to think about what you gonna wear :D denim did make me fashion lazy and way more appreciative for stuff that lasts and builds character..

will chicken leg a new pair

Haha "chicken leg"

I feel that pants with interesting pocket detailing, on the picture are Atelier La Durance, or Battle Stripes, or interesting selvage detail in hem are extra suited for shorts because you do lose the combs and knee fades that make regular jeans interesting, so kind of compensating with detailing on the shorts. But hey, that's just my opinion...

:-D.. honestly really wide pants are more breezy but otherwise the large amounts of fabric get in the way when skateboarding or cycling, so I prefer tighter cuts altogether also because it's easier to show some nice shoes, funky socks or ankle tats in my case. The wide model is more a fashion fad to me because "relaxed tapered" models are the most practical in any case (besides true workwear with cargopockets and stuff)

Not really helping your case (yet) and not sure if this is blasphemy around here. But I own quite a few raw denims from back when I worked in a clothing store and wide pants were still acceptable as skinny was just an Italian thing..

So what i do is.. Just cut them into shorts. Now I still get to wear old fades from good pants that otherwise get lost in a closet because I'm too insecure to be rocking the wide pants nowadays :-D

Not really a picture kinda guy but found one of last summer when I worked on large urban art project...

yup new here...

tried the 777s first, but my body type says 888 (also Cephalopods are my favorite animals). Anyway, these feel perfect. Re-confirming the softness of the 21oz and this model makes crouching possible without showing my crack or hindering movement. Still feels a lil snug, but nothing that won't stretch.  I believe.... fit pics below. If you look closely you can see the extra corona kilos...

remark about the model. I feel the hem size could be smaller/tighter. Have to add I have maximus gluteus and thicc quads but small calves & tender ankles. The hem & below the knee fit of 777 looked nicer imho. I'm 1,83m (6ft) and around 95kg - it's a size 36

briefly was a newcomer on this thread, but butt to big for this model...

swiitching over to the 888's as I wait for the new pair to arrive.

Was nice meeting you guys here  ;D

Another Dutchie ^ , half the age of Sieger but also novice to IH and living in Dordrecht..

4 years ago I competed in the DWC with local brand Tulp Jeans,
Last 2 years been wearing the Samurai S710NBK, which was hard as the cotton threading is horrible imho.
So figured, for next 2 years I go for the brand with the reputation of truly being workwear quality.

Just ordered a pair of IH-777s-21 and can't wait for them to arrive..

I enjoy fades as an artform, I front-pocket carry and prefer small cuffs and short inseam (ankle height), but considering to get some stacks on my IH's if it suits...
