Down is useless when wet so it makes sense that a jacket built for bad weather has synthetic insulation.

But for the same reason I don’t understand why the shell consists of 60% cotton.  I know there is a membrane, but I still wouldn’t want to risk the shell getting soaked when I’m a long way from someplace warm.

So, it looks like the tag works when viewing within the app but not on a web browser.

How you tag someone on Tapatalk. The @ plus name is coded different in the app. Using this button will allow a proper tag.

Shirting / Re: IHSH-62-BLK - 12oz Wabash Western Shirt - Black

I never really close the neck collar, but it's a bit snug with the M. Never tried on the S. If I can, I guess I can just hot wash it with woolite to shrink it if I lose a bit of weight..
Are you wearing the same shirt in both pics?  The first one looks a lot bigger.  Try taking some pics straight on instead of from above and with better lighting.

You won’t get much shrink in the horizontal direction.  Most shrinkage occurs in the arms and length.

I prefer the small.

The sleeves in the medium are too long and it looks too big in the chest and waist.

When wearing the small, can you touch your toes and touch your opposite shoulders by crossing your arms across your chest?  If so, then it’s probably not too small.

Jackets / Re: IHW-18-BLU - Wool Bush Jacket - Blue

It’s not very warm.  Comparable to the IHW-01, slightly warmer than the IHJ-12 windbreaker, less than the N1, and significantly less than the IHW-13.  It’s more of a spring or fall weight jacket most suited for temperatures between 5 and 15 deg, depending on what you wear under it.

Because of the Corona explosion in Hamburg, going to the shopping mall is the most exciting thing I’ve done in the last 2 weeks.

You’re too far away / too small to really get an idea of how they fit.

I’ve been here a very long time and I’m rarely annoyed by noob questions.  Additionally, I think the forum members and moderators are exceptionally polite and helpful in answering questions from the new members or at least pointing them in the right direction.

In contrast, I’m often annoyed when people in the Ironheart Facebook group repeatedly complain about how IH sizing differs from that of their favorite brand or why IH doesn’t make a size 10XL.

The thing that agitates me the most on the forum is when extremely positive feedback is given on a fit that is objectively poor.  I tend to give constructive criticism only when it’s explicitly requested and keep my mouth shut otherwise.  I’m not sure what’s the best way to help newcomers improve their fits without coming across as insulting.  But I don’t think telling them something looks great when there is obvious room for improvement is a helpful tactic.

Thanks for the info!  I’m not sure if Chicago has it, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be in that area anytime soon.

Anesthetist I love your style.

How do you find the wireframe sofa?  It’s a piece I’ve been considering but haven’t had a chance to test it.  It’s not even in Herman Miller’s flagship store in New York.  The London store has it but I don’t know the next time I’ll make it over there.

Washing at 30deg on the delicate cycle will cause about 1cm of shrinkage in the sleeves and 2cm in the length.  No shrinkage will occur horizontally (chest and waist).

Since the above shrinkage can tolerated with your large, I would recommend that size.

I don’t play the hot wash / dry shrinkage game.  The vertical and horizontal dimensions shrink different amounts, so it’s not possible to proportionally shrink a shirt.

Make sure you pay attention to the length measurement.  Some Japanese brands are very short, which you may or may not like depending on your body type.

For example, I really loved the Strike Gold sweatshirt but it was almost a belly shirt on me.  Same with some of the old model IH sweatshirts.

I got a 3 sixteen sweatshirt when I was in New York two weeks ago.  Not loop wheeled, but really nice.
