It must be really rewarding to see tangible results of all your hard work, Giles. This is just the coolest.

I don’t necessarily do it every 3-4 weeks, (probably every couple months, unless I have a food spill), but I’ve warm washed an tumble dried pretty much all of the iron heart products I’ve ever had.

For the most part, washing inside out and making sure to soak completely before the wash cycle has prevented too much marbling.  21oz. Does pretty good with this method, and overdye too. One thing I have noticed is that the spin cycle that wrings out the water in a machine wash can create creases in the fabric, so which can translate into fade lines. These usually go away with wear. As for drying, I see how it might weaken the fibers over time, but I haven’t noticed any difference in the life span of my jeans. My 11-year old 634s have been patched in the crotch, but otherwise they’re in great shape!

I think if you want to machine wash and dry for convenience sake, just embrace that a little marbling or lineage may become part of the wabi sabi on your jeans.

I will post a full review once I get them! I also am hoping not to have to explore the return policy, but if I don because of sizing, I’ll keep you posted on that, too.

Update: Someone from Ignition Works called the day after I ordered to confirm sizing. I explained that I was pretty familiar with what I’m looking for in measurements, and asked for the biggest thigh. The usps shipping number was created a few minutes after our call. Now, crickets. The shipment shows as waiting to be dropped off at the post office since Wednesday.

Y’all, I am sooo spoiled by IH, it has ruined my patience.

I'm quoting a picture - deal with it.

Well played, Eli! Legit use of quoted pic: no penalty.

Killer! Very nice patch and I like that it adds a sense of place. The party keeps ragin’ on.

What worries me the most is our environmental future. Not that economies aren’t hugely influential on all of our lives, but climate change and overpopulation are the creepy elephants in the room that previous generations have ignored for way too long.

It doesn’t really matter what country we call home, because the whole planet is doomed. I know that I’m Debbie Downer, but the research is out: without bringing our current activities to a screeching halt in pretty much every aspect of our modern life, this planet will become pretty bleak, and I believe that will have greater impact on our species than our political and economic struggles.

A lot of the world is making a sharp right turn towards idiocracy, that’s for sure.

My green 162 is a definite favorite in the collection. Between that and the old serge cargoes that I have, I’ve got no doubt this new fabric will be amazing. I’m sort of glad this shirt is beige/khaki. I’ve never really responded to that color, so I’m safe from wanting it.

Well, I pounced on the stretchy ones, so I will be sure to report back on sizing! Went with my usual 36, but who can say whether they’ll be right? I’ll find out soon...

My 9526v needs one of these, for sure.

Oh, Eli. I will be holding your family in my thoughts.  It’s heartening to hear that you’ve been able to find community with your family, and friends real and virtual.

That’s the last I heard, too, Reuben. Thanks. IWHWIH and hopefully I’ll be ready.
