@UnTucked - we miss you, hope life is treating you and the family really well.  Hard to believe your oldest is 14, hope we can meet them all before too long  :-*

@neph93 - missing you all, too  :-*

Great thread  ;D
We miss you all too! And it would be LOVELY to be able to meet up sometime, and even more lovely if it happened to be in Japan!

And yeah, the twins will be 15 in a few months... time really flies!

This thread is great!

I'm waiting for the day to come where I can indoctrinate my son into the IH Army, but he's 14 and growing like a weed right now.... a very skinny weed, but a weed none the less, lol!

For now, I've gotten him into a a less costly brand that we don't like to talk about around here, so I won't bore you folks with the pics, but he has already let me know that he plans to raid my closet in the future... strangely enough, I'm looking forward to it.

You are one brave soul!

If he's brave, I'm just crazy because... I use my Schick Hydro5 to get rid of the fuzzies on my UHF's

I was inspired to browse the store because I have a Polo western shirt that I love. It is like almost 10 years old and is made from a velveteen chenille fabric. I got it on sale for like $20. I love the way the shirt fits.

I think the quality is okay for stuff that is mass-produced.

I have this same shirt in orange... picked it up at a thrift shop when I was living in Japan.

I agree, for a mass produced piece, the quality is pretty spot good, and the fabric feels wonderful.

thanks @UnTucked ad recently @Anesthetist for the compliments on the vest. It is so functional.

I get weird looks when we go to the store like I'm some "country bumpkin", but you know where they can take their opinions....

I have an IHV-16 as well (with far less wear though), and get those same looks...

As far as where they can shove their opinions, might i suggest the ample and practical pockets on your vest?

 :D :D :D

Non-standard Iron Heart fanboy request, COMIN' IN HOT!

So, my newest obsession since moving here a year ago is jiu jitsu...

It would be awesome if @Giles could convince @Haraki-san to do a small limited batch of denim gis!

Even just a denim white belt would be sweet!

White herringbone gi or 21 oz white denim. I’d buy it!

Absolutely!

Herringbone gi pants, and denim top since tops get worn out far more quickly.

Any thoughts about a liner jacket that could go under denim jackets or specifically the M65.  I've read the threads about no liners for M65s, but I think a standalone jacket liner that's thin enough with technical insulation (i.e. primaloft) that looks good to be worn on its own or underneath a denim jack or the M65 would be a seller!

I have an IHM-27-OLV, and I have an IHJ-30... two very beautiful pieces, but they don't work together... though they COULD, if I had gotten my M65 oversized.

This is something that I brought up a while back, so I think I get what you're actually asking for.  Seems like you are thinking of a "jacket system", like the actual military issued M65.

The military issued M65 is actually one piece of a 3-part jacket system, that consists of the field jacket itself, a field jacket liner that buttons into the jacket for warmth, and a gortex outer shell for wind resistance and took keep you dry in wet weather.

The pieces are made to all work together, but also all work as individual pieces as well.

I'll try to get some better pics. I'm really proud of those fades!

Luckily @UnTucked is running the Thunderdome these days. (I don't know what's with the cross-dressing, but I'm not judging.)

Just keeping it FABULOUS in these dark times, lol!

How about a mask?

I had thought about this the other day, but realized it might be perceived as being in bad taste...

It's suddenly cold here in the desert, and I've pulled out my UHF's...

So, time for a couple of my wild suggestions.

A UHF cruiser jacket similar to the Filson Mackinaw Cruiser. Any colorway would do, or solid color as well.

Also, a charcoal grey and burgundy buffalo check shirt would be GORGEOUS.

And to end it with the attention off of myself, Maddy is living in her Cookie Monster, and asks (Why don't they make pyjama pants from this material?!", lol!

*She still wants to see a navy blue and red buffalo check, as well...
