Overnight fermented sourdough pancakes for breakfast this morning. Pretty yummy!
@neph93 check out theperfectloaf.com. I used his method to make a starter this time. It’s working great, though took 10 or so days to really get going vs the 6ish he suggests.

@Stuart.T Thanks! Olive oil and flaky salt for me, but it is tasty. One of my favorite winter childhood memories is baking bread with my dad. The smell really takes me back!

Congratulations @spitfiredealer! Well worn!

Any bread baking fans here? I’d previously grown up and baked with a sourdough culture, but wasn’t entirely happy with the results and the process of that particular method used and discarded a lot of flour. Found a different method and started a new mother two weeks ago, finally baked with it yesterday. Got pretty good results this time, think I just need to tweak it a little. Pretty tasty too!

@BloodnThunder Off the couch 5k has a nice ring to it! You’ve got the engine for sure, even if you don’t run much or at all anymore.

@kkibbey23 Hope the appt goes well. Report back. A friend of mine had that treatment (I think) for tendon issue in her heel and it helped her. Oil Creek looks like fun, I think you mentioned it before. I’ve also looked at Eastern States for an east coast race. But we’ll see!
We are expecting our first baby at the end of February, so that will certainly add another dimension to things, particularly travel (we’re in Colorado). I’m doing some training but haven’t signed up for anything. Time will definitely be at a premium once she arrives!

@BloodnThunder I hear ya. Getting back to it after a few months off since I broke my arm. I’ve been hiking in the meantime, but it still hurts!

@kkibbey23 Hoping the treatment works and you can get back to it! Any specific races you’re looking at?

@BloodnThunder I didn’t know that about you, but not surprised. Whenever you do log a run on strava, you are fast. Both you and Collin’s easy days are faster than my hard days. I guess also not surprising on me- I’ve hated running most of my life, only really started to like it in the last few years, and I’m 39 now. I’ll never be at that level, but it’s still fun to cover long distances on foot.
Great counterpoints you raise. I enjoyed reading your reply though I forgot to reply back! Being at that level, you have a unique insight into that world and what it takes. So thank you!

Anyone have any reflections on your 2019 season? Achieve any goals, do any fun races? Plans or goals for 2020?

I also wore a 526J-DD for the duration of the contest. While I know there wasn’t a jacket contest this time around, thought it would be fun to do. Here are the final images.
It’s been a fun two years! Hopefully there will be another DWC.

Can’t seem to find many in process pics, maybe deleted some but I also know I didn’t post as much as others.
With my best bud post hike.

Another eBay find. These look like the above overalls, but the seller is in Philadelphia rather than https://www.ebay.com/itm/IRON-HEART-17OZ-DUCK-DOUBLE-KNEE-OVERALLS-PANTS/283671598036?hash=item420c2513d4:g:BXUAAOSwJAxdyDyh
The patch is the thing that caught my eye- the font for the lot number and size isn’t consistent with what is on the product page. The sewing looks wrong too, going off the edges vs stopping before the edge is reached. That’s about all I can tell. Seller has some nice detail shots, but neither the product page nor the forum do. Maybe @Giles can comment?
Hopefully ignorance on part of the seller if they are indeed fakes. Only selling one pair vs many in different sizes offered by the ones above. The price caught my eye too, though I know people are sometimes apt to start with no reserve in hopes the bids will drive up the final cost.

I ordered a pair of the midnight denim Californians yesterday. That denim looks great on the site. Sort of reminds me of the IH XHSib denim. Just a lot less heavy
They look nice. I’m thinking about the ranch blouse in the same denim, but funds are lacking at this moment.
