They both look great but for different reasons. The 31 is a bit slimmer and a more modern fit and the 32 is more old school straight leg. I realize I’m absolutely no help

Amelia is super proud of her jeans and boots combo. No IH for her yet but my wife’s old pair should fit her sooner than later

The pics of it apart really shows what a challenging piece it must be to cast and finish. I dont have much use for one but this is making it really tempting. Nice shots!

Found this Seiko Arnold reissue in Nashville for CHEAP over the weekend and it’s great! I always want to wear my original but I worry about killing it on accident. This one should be more than capable.

Didnt know exactly where to put this one so here is as good as any

I’ve been using a GoodArt BLB for my house keys (plus a ton of junks) since they came out and it’s hard to beat. It’s secure, stylish, holds a ton, and it gets better with age. So even though it’s great I wanted to take a break and try something new. No real reason why but it’s like the thrill of a new denim cut or wallet I guess.

So Carryology came out with a collab w/ Orbitkey and it centers around the super magnetic Fidlocks. I have them on a bunch of different bags and they are great! Addictively snappy, fast, and super secure to boot. Love them and I had to cop asap. I got my keyrings today and here it is:

Notice that there is one male piece and two female pieces connected to different options: a carabiner or steel clip. The fabric parts are hypalon which should be pretty wear resistant as opposed to leather which could stretch or crack. The pieces are CNC machined and pretty overbuilt. Overall it’s a nice piece of kit

So as you can see on my BLB, I had a lot of little pocket tools like a JL Lawson bottleopener, flashlight, Tender button, and a damascus splinter for boxes, etc. I’ve carried some of these little pieces for almost 20 years but sadly because the magnets of the Fidlocks are so potent the steel bits become a nuisance and slow down what should be a quick process.

Here is the carabiner

And the belt clip

Both fit really securely and feel really functional for different circumstances. I’ve subbed out the damascus piece for a Fred Perrin titanium key and added a Jeff Hall ti bottle opener. The brass lantern is ok for now but as the clip is steel it may be trimmed. Anyway will be giving this a shot for now, my BLB is pretty sad looking so we’ll see how long it lasts

Sorry for the long winded review of a friggin keychain, but if you’re into this kind of stuff I hope it was worth while!

My understanding of g-shock technology is that even the metal ones are always built with a resin core. That’s why they’re so shock proof.

I love my g-shocks. Haven’t been wearing a watch whilst staying home all the time, but they’re great.

There are G Shocks that have a full metal construction like the GW-5000-1FJ & the pricier GW-5000D-1. I have the former and although it looks like a resin model it has a full steel case complete with a screw back. It feels different from a fully resin Casio in that it’s heavier and the strap material feels a little lighter and silkier. I wear mine quite a lot especially while traveling.

Totally understated IMO!

Very nice score on an almost unobtainable!

Did they keep the same handset on the larger case like they did w/ the 1st gen of the new Explorer I?

Thank you guys, this was a really special and unexpected gift!

The watch is a re-edition of a late 50’s/early 60’s Mido Powerwind diver which was notable for its bright pastel decompression dial ring. Basically you choose your depth and follow the ring around to the minutes you’ll be underwater ( for example 9 oclock = 45 min underwater). The decompression time will be printed within that ring. More of a gimmick of course but fun and more functional than say the decompression ring that Doxa uses. Cant imagine anyone actually using it for that reason but it makes for a good conversation.
Apparently the originals are really hard to come by and go for over $6k. They also made a black dialed version which is more similar to the re-edition.
Comparison of old and new (not my own):

Hodinkee did a great write up on it and IMO it’s a fun little read. I’m really impressed she was able to nab one since they sold out so quickly! Very proud of her and super happy with it.

Thank you for the detailed write-up and I’m very happy for you and the Hot-Missus! I imagine it’s going to be a hell of a challenge but it looks like an awesome project. Following along
