Yeah it's a bit of a shitshow in part 1, but as soon as they move to the London studio, and especially when Billy joins them, it becomes incredibly beautiful stuff... Absolutely necessary viewing...

My sweetetst comrades: thank you for all the truly heartwarming words  :)

I am now sodding off to go watch the F1 at me brother's with a 50cls Brasilian stout... So we'll talk soon-ish  :D

I think the most interesting beer I had this year, was a coffee DIPA... Brasilian piece of work... Absolutely astonishing... Mate you can fucking wake me up any time of the day for a good cup of Joe, and if you add a DIPA to it... I'll be close to purring  ;D

What I like in a beer?.. Summat new, perhaps?.. Am I the only one who's growing tired of beers that are too sweet?.. I've found myself going for more "ordinary" stouts recently... Fuck me: barrel age 'm on anything and everything, but hold the multitude of sweet adds, please and thank you...

But it is so subjective, of course, as my main squeeze Jett29 pointed out... Mind you: he doesn't know he's my main squeeze and might be filing a report as we speak...

Whether or not beer has blown my (tiny) mind this year?.. Yeah... It has... On many, many occassions... And it's why I'll stick to this hobby (called alcoholism) for another year... I'm not at a position to both indulge in wine and beer financially, unfortunately, because I do love me some of the red Frenchies; but I can honestly tell you that wine has dissapointed me easily tenfold of how much beer has...

But it is subjective...

And I'm tired...

Although I love this language, I will just stick to posting some pictures for now... Lemme have an espresso, and I might add to this... Let's ramble!.. Let's all ramble!.. I love a good free-flow ramble...

@Seul As the others have pointed out, and you being the resident connoisseur:  Can you tell us what makes a good beer great?

I'm also the resident idiot but I'll try and answer your question after I get back from work  ;D

So I promised y'all a top 5 of some kinds... I had so many incredible beer ths year... I watched y'all post some incredible looking beers every god-dang day  :D I love this thread so much... Now: I will post a top 5 or top 10 maybe later on... It's only Nov 19 after all... But the beer that wins this year well... It has to be DE DOLLE DULLE TEVE RISERVA 2018. Not because it was limited to 250 (and instantly became a bit of a whale for some 'mericans); not because my mate scored the LAST BOTTLE in the damn shop; not because it was the beer I enjoyed most this year (I'll be honest with you: I'm not thàt big on sours), but because I have a huge soft spot for DDB... Absolutely anti-commercial, and also one of the first breweries who started barrel aging beers... STILLE NACHT RESERVA being of course their most known beer... Have two in a fridge somewhere... Perks of living in Belgium I guess  ;D

One of the last things I did with my dad before he died of pancreatic cancer, was visit De Dolle... I commented on their hugely cute silkscreened metal tables they had set up outside and what d'you know... He was able to buy a brand new one of them from De Dolle... It has and always will be in my living room...

Of course... My mate got jealous and contacted them and he was able to buy the LAST GOD DAMN TABLE they stored on some attic from them  :D So this pic is just the best of all worlds for me... Best brewery, best table (thanks da, miss ya heaps), best mate, great beer  :)

Dolle Brouwers Dulle Teve Riserva 2018... Sold out in a mere week.

Dulle Teve that has been aged on used Massolino Chardonnay white wine barrels for almost 3 years.
