Heinnie Haynes x Spyderco UKPK

Not owned a Spyderco before and as a result, never understood the hype.  Consider me converted!

Amazing quality, razor sharp and safety stop on it is very solid indeed!

Signed Lichtenstein litho from 1981 from our local art museum

They recently uncovered 10 of them in storage and it’s a really cool piece of StL history IMO

Bag whore that I am, as much as I lust after all the great packs out there, these two are pretty hard to beat for my use. The duffel is a Triple Aught Design that folds into its own pocket, can convert into a backpack, and is bomb and water resistant (VX sailcloth construction). Only has two mesh pockets, one external that it folds up into to be about the size of a small frisbee, and an internal one that's large, where I put dirty laundry. When I need a suit, I use a Briggs and Riley roller carry-on. I guess if I have a gap it's a large travel ruck that could support some tech, but the trip that requires that hasn't happened yet. They're clearing these out for $91 right now. https://tripleaughtdesign.com/shop/azimuth-duffel/

The backpack is an old Briggs & Riley @work model. It's on the small side, but that makes it good for under the seat in front of me on a plane and appropriate for business. It has great internal organization and durability. Would love a bit more water resistance, the pen holders are too small, and the water bottle pocket is really just a pocket, but that's about it as far as gripes go. Otherwise perfect, this thing has put my beloved Acronym 3A-5TS messenger back in the closet. Boring and practical won out over cool and modular.

Hmmm.... Azimuth duffle..... perhaps I need to pick one of these up!

@Cutlasshound Which ones did you cop? The black suede pair is sweet!

The black suede initially. When the bloke said they were £127 I shamelessly bought the brown suede ones also!

Present-London are having a closing down sale. 70%. Discounts on everything instore and also some discounts online.

I picked up two pairs of new season Trickers boots yesterday in store for £127 each (listed as circa £250 on website).

Master-Piece Japan bags and wallets were heavily discounted and loads were still available in store, along with Yuketen and Alden footwear (again the discounts offered were better instore than online).

Sadly it appears that the likes of End opening a flagship store bear Carnaby Street has probably hit them hard!

Anyone with great bag knowledge (I know @Graeme and @Cutlasshound fit the bill, but I am sure many of you I have not already spoken to about this also do) able to recommend a good size rucksack to cycle with that is large enough for a full outfit inc. boots, a water bottle and packed lunch as well as a laptop and notebook etc? My Goruck has lasted me well but is a shade on the small size now. Waterproofing is a bonus given our climate!
Cheers

Personally I would avoid any made from waxed canvas as they make your back sweat.  I would also go for one with a full clamshell offered rather than a rolltop as they offer far better access. These days, it is not a full clamshell or equivalent (i.e Mystery Ranch tri-zip,m) then I don’t bother looking as I know I will just get irritated with it at some point.

I would have a look at the TAD Axiom range. It has received excellent reviews. https://theperfectpack.com/ reviewed the 18l version but they now do a 24l version which I will pick up at some point. Fabric is vx-21 ripstop which is waterproof and very lightweight.

You could also check out the TAD Fastpack Litespeed (if you are not adverse to a bit of Molle webbing). Pretty sure they have a VX-21 version as a limited run. I had a cordura one. It was excellent and only retired it as have a Mystery Ranch ASAP and a TAD Scout which are more versatile for my needs these days (that and Fran was about to castrate me if I did not get rid of at least one bag).

Otherwise, Bagjack have a lot of nice offerings and they are a cycle courier brand. Eye wateringly expensive for some of the NXL models but the quality is excellent.

Also, out of the left field, the Arcteryx Leaf courier is supposed to be absolutely exceptional, but not sure how much it holds!

Picked one up from Rivet and Hide yesterday afternoon as wanted it for the weekend.

Fabric is rather substantial. Certainly more heavy duty than I was expecting but lovely nonetheless!
