The Evolution of Iron Heart
« on: November 06, 2009, 10:48:42 am »
So I was in SESF yesterday and was checking out this pair of Giles' 634S's that hang on the wall upstairs along with two other framed pairs. The pair made me wonder what everyone's look like, the length of wear, number of washes, and number of soaks they have invested into their denim? Let's see what you've got!

Owner: Giles Padmore
Lived In Length: 20 Months
Number Of Washes: 36

RIP Geo

IH526J.  When this photo was taken it had had about 2 years very intense wear (at the time, I was setting Iron Heart up and in between shipping jeans etc., I was rebuilding a house that had not been lived in for 30 years - yes I got mucky) and about 5 washes.

This is actually a very early version of the jacket, about 5 years old, the 21 oz selvedge denim used back then was not as dark a shade of indigo as it is now, with similar wear etc, I would expect much more contrast out of the current 21oz selvedge denim  (the denim in the 634S hanging up in Self Edge is the same denim as this jacket, so the same points re: contrast apply to them too):

My TWHR01's.  Pic taken at 6.5 months after fairly constant wear, one soak and 2 washes.

More pics here:

I'm loving the contrast and would really like to get a TWHRII going too:

I think that it would look amazing after a couple of years - but too much to fade and too little time.......

This is a pair of 634S I beat the living crap out of renovating the house, the last major job I did wearing them was painting.  These were about 2 years old when I stopped wearing them, probably about 20 washes including a few mega-hot (see leather patch).  I occasionally pull them on for special occasions - like creosoting the fence....

Those should be up on a wall too!  Very cool Giles. I like to see well lived jeans.

Sitting here in my 634S's which I started on a week ago. Really looking forward to their progression. I am amazed at your multiple pairs of incredible fades, combs, and whiskers! Keep those flicks coming! Nice job Giles and drz!

Giles, you just sold me on getting a pair of 634s when my 1001's needed to be rotated out.
