Missing you both - and your talk earlier of eating Freshness burgers and yakitori has made me feel really hungry... :P

PBJ, Toyo etc are showing this week, that is specifically why we are showing this week.  I have no idea why the cool kids decided to miss those shows and in our case put Haraki and co to a load more effort....

I know Toyo is showing Nov 7, 8 and 9... don't know about PBJ though.

Samurai is showing the week of the 13th (I think).

It's all out of sync these days.

There she is, the one with the black balconies- 2 double bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms and a large kitchen/living area at half the price of a room slightly larger than my suitcase in a hotel....

That is indeed crazy, I looked at Hotels in Tokyo for an eventual Japan Trip and tought I accidently typed Monaco or something like that, on the other Hand the AirBnBs are as cheap as it gets, especially compared to London.

Is there anywhere on the Internet or maybe even is this Forum a sort of Map where to stay the best in Tokyo for exploring ?

I love all the pics, thanks guys! That sign looks like it's warning people against aggressive dancing, to me.  :D

Take special care in Shibuya station....

I totally thought that sign was a guy flashing a chick, which actually happens VERY frequently in Japan. I would say about half of the Japanese chicks I know have a "flasher story" from their childhood...

You can find them at any Family Mart, Lawson's or 7-11....

They're called chu-hi (chew-hi).

you should be able to get chu-hi from alcohol vending machines as well. interesting to me that public intoxication is legal in Japan but against the law in the US. tobacco and alcohol vending machines wouldn't last a day here -- they'd be vandalized instantly. The cool thing about alcohol vending machines in Japan is that they turn themselves off around midnight to my recollection, but if you're of legal age and have an id you can simply swipe your card and still buy a beer or whatever.

The first meeting doesn’t have much effect on the buyers spend.

Orders aren’t commonly placed at the time, more an expression of interest.

I disagree, showing stuff get's product into buyers minds.  There have been numerous occasions of retailers saying to me, "if only I had seen that earlier, I would not have committed to X from other brand Y"

We are taking as much of our FW18 collection to Selvedge Run in January, specifically to show retailers there as early as possible...

I guess in my experience with retailers, denim and 'fashion', they sit down with the line sheets from all their brands (whether they've viewed product in person or not) and hash out what they want/ what they've got the budget for.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely see value in attending these meetings, I just don't know how crucial being first is...

If you're a retailer and you have ten meetings over 4-5 days the impact of those first few may not be as strong by the tenth. Being around that middle area is probably the sweet spot for both brand and retailer.

When Clutch stops fucking the whole industry up, then maybe we can get back to some semblance of normality......I miss the old days when everyone in the business was in town at the same time....

Couldn't agree more!

I'm bummed I won't be seeing you and Fancy Pants this trip!

I couldn't get across to the UK whilst in Paris last month BUT I am back in January and won't let the opportunity slip by again!

PS. Don't tell Tom-san I am in Tokyo next week. I want to surprise her :D
