Don‘t get me wrong, I really like Mike‘s stuff.
But IMO this cut works as „original“ Wills Jacket but neither as leather nor as denim jacket...
Looks sort of weird to me...
I had the same initial reaction. I showed it to my wife and she didn't care for the top-pockets. Then I looked at some of the pics that he put on their Instagram and I kinda warmed up to it. I like the idea of a chore coat, something with lots of pockets that's not too fitted, not too heavy, but still tough. And we're all here because we like denim, between the way it fades and how well it breathes. So why not both?
I have too many jackets. The only way I can justify another is if it's a classic jacket, something that's not going to go out of style in a few years. This is where I was a little on the fence about this jacket. It's nice, but it's different. Will I still like it in ten years? I think so.
And I have to admit that part of the decision was based on the fact that I just like Ship John as a company and I want to support them.
