N-3b parkas?
« on: November 02, 2018, 06:02:19 pm »
Hi all I wasn't sure wether to put this here, the other brands thread or the wtb, so please feel free to move it if needs be.

I'm looking for a N-3b parka but the only one I can find that I like is the McCoy's one and thays way way over budget. Do any of you have any recommendations or seen anything about? I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

Cheers

If budget is a constraint there's always Alpha Industries

I have obviously looked at the Alpha ones but I'm not keen, but obviously you get what you pay for!  I could go upto about £500 for the right one but would rather not idealy something between that would be perfect

The Japanese market Alphas crop up on eBay with fair regularity, they’re a bit more fashion cut, so slimmer through the arms and body. I’ve owned both regular and Japanese market version, the regular one feels like your wearing your duvet, shapeless mass of material and padding.

Get a deck jacket instead  8)
Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

Alpha  do a slim model now, may have originally been for the Japanese Market, but as I said I'm not that into the Alphas the material looks iffy to me andfact they have them in the windows of USC is abit off putting, if your from the UK you'll know what I mean  :D
That said if I can't find anything else I might go for the explorer which is based on the n3b looks alright for £150

I recently sold my TWC Butcher products N1 deck jacket I regret it now but not enough to buy another :D

Have you tried Buzz Rickson? Might be a little less expensive than RMC stuff
WTB:
IHSH-129 size L (blue)
IHSH-37 blue/orange L or XL depending on fit
IHSH-19

Yes, first place I looked, but they don't seem to be making them at the moment and the prices have gone up quite on the older models on Rakuten.

I have a Spiewak Golden Fleece (made in US) one, with coyote fur trim, which I’m very happy with. This model is no longer being made but you may find one somewhere with a bit of luck. I bought it in Interstate about 5 years ago. Spiewak did launch a new, updated range, made in Canada I think, which you might want to look into.

This could be a good pattern for those looking for a re-run of the lengthier deck jacket with a hood.
Think it, be it.
