Fall/Winter 2019 Highlights
-
Now that F/W19 is coming to a close and the majority of the collection has dropped, what has been your highlight?
We talk about what we want in the future on that specific thread so I'm interested to hear the now:
Favourite piece? Surprise piece you didn't think you'd get? Something you're gutted you missed?
Mine for me was getting the cosy cash and I succeeded ;D the pattern of the herringbone fabric looks so good up close. So I'm happy.
-
My highlights would have been the shirts I couldn't afford. The mustard, Kersey, and the 238 (I'm glad I got this one at least.). I think the duffle coat will be a future classic. My wish would be that the drops are more spread over the months.

Favorite piece: Navy moleskin CPO
Surprise piece I didn't think I'd get: IHV-39 (Primaloft vest) I don't wear vests because they're too cowboy for my taste. But this is the perfect layering piece. It's even got a high collar to keep your neck warm.
Missed out on: Sweat pants. For some reason, I didn't receive a "back in stock" email when either of the shipments arrived and wasn't checking the forum on those days.

I originally passed on the Mustard UHF due to owning too many flannels :D. When it was restocked last week, and seeing it in the wild, I jumped on one of the XL’s.
The only other shirt that I passed on and kind of regret is the Camel Kersey. Once again, it looks good in the wild.
Personally I found this season’s colour selection (UHF’s) more muted than in the past. I enjoy the variation/intensity of the IH flannels and hope next year will bring some back.
-
Mine first and foremost the forum shirt based on sentimentality and gratitude, followed by the shirt I resisted until an unexpected restock–the "surprise" mustard Western I knew for months I was going to be "gutted" to miss, arriving today, which is going to probably a top 5 UHF (I think my first Aspero too!). Close behind is the camel Kersey, herringbone flannel, and the tartan UHF, all in the "gutted" category.
-
My highlights:
IHSH-237-BLK Western UHF
IHM-31 Whipcord PeacoatGutted I have to skip the peacoat. Life has a funny way of sh*tting on you when you least expect it. Got a lovely bill from the children's hospital for $800 for an ER visit my son made in June of 2018. Already paid them $600 back in March. Yep, the healthcare system here really sucks
Not a FW drop but i'll give an honorable mention to the IHSH-220 indigo madras western. Love this shirt

Super interesting to hear because this season's UHF patterns have been my absolute favourite. That and the fact we're going to be making some classic patterns a constant is just awesome.
The crazy check really popped in terms of amount of orders on release day, supporting @goosehd theory that wild = popular!
The team all chat about the popularity of items when we see samples for a seasonal collection and how we think they'll go down. I love the fact different pieces are loved across the board!
-
never mind the flannels, looking forward to using that waterproof jacket at football next year during winter when it pours!
-
Also, I think it was great there was a western and workshirt variant of the UHFs.
-
I'm sworn off shirts but there's a load I would have loved to have. The stand out for me was the IHSH-229-SNO, I can't say I've missed out because there is one left in my size, but I'm staying strong.
My purchases this F/W have been more along the lines of filling holes in the wardrobe and prioritising higher end stuff that I've been yearning for. The stand out piece is the SFK goat skin vest. It qualifies as the surprise piece as well because I always thought I'd want the brown/tan but ended up with the black.
-
This is hard to say for sure as I still plan to get the SNO UHF (waiting for Division Road to release it so I can support the local store) but I would say my favorite piece is the Camel Kersey. The color is phenomenal and the fabric is really great. So good, I'll most likely get the indigo version eventually.
Surprise piece is definitely the Mustard UHF. Liked it when I saw it. Liked it more when the look book came out. The delay of the SNO release at Division Road made me impatient for a UHF so I pulled the trigger. Didn't need it. Definitely love it.
I think it's too early to say I'm gutted on missing anything. In a year I'll probably say I'm bummed to have missed the crazy check though.

The highlight and one item I was hell bent on getting is the Navy Moleskin CPO. The black Serge Western wasn’t even on my radar, but when I saw it,I realized it had my name written all over it. Didn’t get involved in the UHFs,and may find that over time I regret not getting the “Woody”.
-
Something that never really interested me before but has emerged as my next top pick is the IHJ-79. I know it was a re-run but had never tried it on until came back. The technical stuff IMO is underrated. Can't wait to cop one soon!
Great to hear the varying opinions on the UHF's, pretty clear they're the MVP for F/W Collections and understandably so!
-
My favorites: IHSH-237 and the storm rider (dunno if this was officially part of fw19).
Gutted that I missed out IHSH-240. I hesitated too long and then they were gone. -
I am impressed by the IHM-30-IND and the IHSH-241-SNO.
I know the N-1 is a mature product but still. It takes the traditional styling and then adds convenience (double action zipper, inside pocket), comfort / warmth (alpaca lined pockets, add'l layer), and indigo (but not denim, which makes it a lot more versatile). It's a winning combo IMHO, and I regret already having a N-1.
The shirt is super classy and will go with everything.

Forgot about that one. It’s definitely a beauty. Sadly for me, an N1 just isn’t in the cards for me and is one of many things I’ve missed out on. Someday I hope to get one

The whole collection has been pretty incredible. I love the camel Kersey but tt has to be the IHSH-237-BLK for me - my new go-to UHF. Initially flew out the door and couldn't believe my luck when an XL came in from Vienna a month or so later ;D
Agree on the 237 [emoji106] IH simply has the best flannels on Earth. The patterns are fantastic, the 12oz aspero cotton is incredibly warm and the snaps make the UHF’s ultra durable. I think this is why I prefer snaps over buttons, namely, you never have to worry about them falling off. I’m up to 9 or so UHF’s and want more. But, as much as I love my UHF’s, I’d like to see more lightweight offerings like the flannels from yrs ago. The ihsh-19 is my grail and if IH put out some lightweight stuff like those I’d be in heaven.

. Just to update, grabbed the IHSH-230/The Woody at Canoe Club this morning. No regrets.
