Over the spring, I’ve put on a few kilos (3-4), and my habit of sizing down 888’s for a slimmer leg has come back to bite me on the (increasingly large) ass. My IH-888-XHSib and IH-888-UHR are the main problem. I can get them on and everything fits fine, but towards the end of the day the waistband starts biting.
I’ll lose the weight again come the autumn, but I wanted to wear my UHR on holiday and it was annoying me. I remembered a forum user from way back (possibly
@Haddtoo 555 ) talked about mechanically stretching pairs of IH so he could have a slimmer leg and top block but a comfy waist. I decided to experiment.
Long story short, a garage jack and a tailored (excuse the pun), length of 2x4 is all I needed:

Obviously, the risk is to post of the articulated button at the waistband, so I was careful to keep an eye on it and go slowly. When I didn’t want to risk more pressure I left the jeans under tension for 10mins. The resultat stretch was around 2cm.

Much comfier.
