I don't think I have seen this referenced here yet but Public Broadcasting has, as part of it's American Experience, series produced a new history of jeans. Here's a link that will take you there (I hope):

Interestingly the documentary doesn't cover the internationalization of denim, much less the emergence of Amekaji in Japan. Iron Heart is a part of the next chapter of this story.

It missed a lot of history. They chose to focus on different things than I would have, but that doesn’t make them wrong. I give em a B-
