That said, my most disappointing gig was Sun Kil Moon at the Shepherds Bush Empire. I love all of Mark's work but he lost the plot and it turned in to a self indulgent cringefest

I really enjoyed this album by Algiers. A great blend of aggression and soulfulness, guitars and synths.
Went to see them in Brighton last week... well worth the freezing cold ride there and back.

My top albums of the year:

1. Converge - The Dusk In Us
2. Wolves In the Throne Room - Thrice Woven
3. Elder - Reflections of a Floating World
4. Amenra - Mass VI

Trying to get a ticket for the upcoming converge shows this weekend at st vitus, fingers crossed :'(
@David_pll that's a good selection!

I didn't buy many new records, but my current list would be this (in no particular order):

- WITTR- Thrice Woven
- Atlantean Kodex - The Annihilation of Bavaria
- Power Trip - Nightmare Logic
- Converge - The Dusk in us
- All Pigs must die - Hostage Animal
- Wolfbrigade - Run with the hunted
- Drudkh / Paysage D'hiver Split
I don't care what people say.. The Max Power way is the right way...

I was sooo upset when my parents wouldn't let 16-year old me go to a Dead show in 1995. It was a month before Jerry died, too.

Major bummer! The music still lives on though, both in past recordings and current tours with new members.

For any hip hoppers into Dre, this is brilliant.

"Good news boppers, the big alert has been called off, turns out that the early reports were wrong, all wrong. Now for that group out there that had such a hard time getting home, sorry about that, I guess the only thing we can do is play you a song"

Apparently Tool's new album is coming out this year. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm pretty excited.

I think they've said that for about the last 3 years.  But apparently Tom Morrello has listened to finished tracks (music only) so there is progress.  I saw them last summer at the Gorge and they had a few teasers sprinkled in the set.

New APC album this year is confirmed though.

Such a good band and so influential in the early 90s. They helped shape the sound of post-hard-core even though Quicksand are the darlings of that legacy
