Thank you both. I’m speculating that some of the smoke from the fires out west might have had something to do with the color. That shot was hand held at ISO 10K,f7.1,at1/50 of a second. The colors only lasted for about 10 minutes.

Tropical storm Henri went by last week, resulting in some good waves for the local surfers…"63D7A5DB-6344-45F5-B969-A66D2B940C3E.jpeg""0EC4BF55-77A0-48F0-8E26-5A96489B801E.jpeg""BAA0AFAC-8B26-4B69-B9B4-EDD165071118.jpeg""1DD26D99-9D8A-40AF-B99C-1E1F3448524C.jpeg""70E8BAEA-B1A9-41AB-9816-FA6DD93A55BE.jpeg""5581E1D9-8475-4AB2-B88D-BD47FC69FB2C.jpeg"

The Belmar Pro Surfing Competition was this past weekend, and even though Hurricane Larry was 1000 miles off shore we still got the waves.   "B8F0F96A-0799-44B5-B9EE-A039E4DB467A.jpeg""F7CC0CC0-E8C0-4654-A61C-50BFCC43486C.jpeg""F463DEC6-9027-41E4-BE9C-2665A52C1000.jpeg""229A68C5-C69F-4A9F-9CE9-9CC0117104F3.jpeg""28483D13-DA0D-4CB9-BBE0-B35EEAD70497.jpeg"

Honestly blown away by the quality of macro shots on the new iPhone 13pro. granted it's nothing too spectacular, but for a mobile device, I have to say I'm quite impressed. of course, you can't compare it to dedicated macro lenses with DSLRs

Looks really good for , like you say...a mobile device.
Im still more than happy with my 12pro-max .. probably won't update for at least a couple of years.

yeah the 12pro max was brilliant, especially in night settings. having the sensor shift technology in that was huge. glad they brought it down to the non max version.

The new macro video capability is pretty cool with the 13 as well, but im going to hang onto the 12 pro max for as long as it makes sense.
When they come out with the hologram function...im all in :D

Took this at a cemetery by the doctors office today with my 13 Pro Max. Really impressed with the new features. This is the portrait with the f stop all the way down (I think 1.4) I also did some editing in Lightroom too. Looking forward to taking some Macro photos as well

Haha dinobarnesberlin ! Definitely going to take my Nikon out still. I just feel like I have way more control and ability to focus more. But dang does this phone make everyday shots really super easy and accessible.

motojobobo the Xs does have this feature too. But the cameras have definitely improved quite a bit since that generation. I’m loving my 13 Pro Max since it’s a huge upgrade from my X. Battery life, speed, and camera are just major quality of life upgrades for me.
