So I’ve discovered that my liquor cabinet grows at a 5:1 ratio to my liquor library.

This is the life I chose...

From the book Smugglers Cove, which I can highly recommend if you are into tiki drinks. They’re not actually very complicated and he gives you a very good framework behind the recipes. His separation of runs into various categories is especially helpful (also a great excuse to buy lots of rums).

Smugglers cove is a great bar to spend a night in if you’re ever in San Francisco.

Random bar. Went for a beer. Check out the whiskey. Pappy isn’t even the priciest "E872859F-05AA-48CF-B015-9B079269B9E7.jpeg"

The Weller 12 is one of my favorites when I can get it.

Considering my age I don’t think cheaper, more readily available 20 year old Pappy will be available in my lifetime. Last bottle of 20 yr Pappy I ever bought I paid $70 for off the shelf in 2006,and then it just exploded.

the Macallan 25YO is probably the priciest of what can be seen there...

I would think that the expansion is for the warehousing most of all - prices will most likely not come down, but supply and stock will go up - especially, stock of older casks.

Foxy
There is a Macallan 30yo next to the 25. I’ve never seen that bottle before. The bar was kind of a dive. Made me wonder how legit the contents are

Right...couldn’t get the resolution of the pic right earlier.

Sometimes, a bar has 1 or 2 regulars that justify such an investment.

By far, the best single malt I ever tasted. For now the only 2 states that sell it here are Tennessee, and Florida."20190702_173225.jpg"

Alipus San Baltazar Mezcal. My first from this distillery,as my liquor had a sale on them. Hands down the best I’ve ever had."ABA1144E-9AF7-4792-BF4E-70C63546C9F9.jpeg"

Nice! I think mezcal may be my favorite spirit. I hope you've tried it neat. IMO the best way to experience a quality mezcal is in neat sips out of a vessel that puts scent front and center, perhaps with sal de gusano and fresh orange on hand between sips. YMMV.
Think it, be it.
