TWSH-09 - Madras Check Work Shirt
« on: September 11, 2012, 08:44:32 am »
S-XXXL
Red and Blue
USD285
End of October

I'm not 100% sure these are the colours.  Haraki had to change from the original planned colourways.  All will be crystal clear when I actually get my mitts on them.....

I really like the blue one. The flannel looks really soft from the pics too.

I looked up madras and found out that there is something called bleeding madras from the 60's & 70's. The print supposedly changes and fades with several washes. This sounds like something H should do in the spring.

Sounds like that deadstock "hidden hickory" I've seen Ooe use in pocket bags.  Looks like standard blue and white striped hickory until the dye washes away, revealing multicolor stripes.  That's pretty cool looking stuff.

Haraki-san should look into making both fabrics...

Are these def the colorways?  I don't want to get too attached, if they're not.

I'm liking the blue, I was always a sucker for Madras check when I used to buy Supreme flannels a few years back.

Mos def the blue. I was going to double up on 70s and get the red and sax blue, but I decided to wait and see if this comes out, instead of the sax blue 70.

FYI, this madras is from India.

EDIT - No it's not.  I told MikeC it was, when we were in Mass, but I was wrong - sorry - Giles

I have just been sent final pics by Haraki.  It seems that there was a serious lost in translation moment here.  I understood these to be made out of Indian cotton Madras.  It appears that the check is a Madras check, but the cotton is not what I know as Madras - sorry to mislead people and very sorry MikeC, who was getting very excited for an Indian Madras..........
