Arc'teryx Veilance
-
Ok fellas,
I know this doesn't really fit with the IH aesthetic but it does in terms of quality.
I'm looking at buying a Field Jacket (SV or LT, not the Insulted one) and would like to know more about sizing.
I'm an L in everything IH, a size 3 in Visvim shirts and tees and an L in Engineered Garments.
What size should I be looking at? I'd like a trim fit which also allows for some layering.
Look forward to some help here:) -

I would suggest looking at medium in the Arcteryx Veilance as a starting point. They seem reasonably generous in terms of cut.
I have the dark grey colour Field Jacket in a size Large. I am XL in all things IH.

I picked my jacket up a couple of years ago from Bureau in Belfast and love it. Smart and functional. I had always used full on outdoor waterproof jackets in the past, great on the mountain but can look a bit out of place in and around town.

Hey DD,
Thanks for the help mate. Yeah I've been using an Original Fake Goretex jacket and top of the line North Face for the last few years. Both top quality and totally waterproof but not smart enough. The Veilance line is something else for me. Quality build, clean design and totally functional, what more do you want from a jacket?! I've got a black Field Jacket LT in medium on it's way..it's a grail piece for me…been looking for one for years (second hand...new is totally out of reach). Proper excited about it! -

enjoy the field jacket, they are a lovely piece of kit. The secret internal chest pocket is very handy when travelling for stashing your passport. The regular internal chest pocket is also long enough to take a flight boarding card which I thought was a nice design touch as it saves you folding the card in half or having it protruding from the top of your shirt or jacket exterior pocket.
I am eyeing up the longer length patrol jacket at the moment. An upcoming Birthday may give me the excuse I need to drop some cash on one of these.

I just picked up an Actuator jacket (Gore-tex 3-layer) for really cheap and I am really impressed with it. The jacket will pack down inside an internal pocket so it will be easy to carry around with me to be ready for rain. Quality is top notch too.

Anyone have or tried on the Mionn vest (the one without the hood)? I'm curious about sizing and whether it fits TTS or slim. Thanks!
-
Arcteryx in general is tts but on the slimmer side if that makes any sense
-
Yeah, I went with a Large with my Actuator jacket but it is a shell and I wanted to layer under it. It seems the Veilance vests fit slimmer but I guess most vest are sized that way. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the vest because I can't return it.
