I will have to look and let you know. I believe it is from the 1980's though. The wood is quite beat up on it. Lost the front site around 2005 too lol. Still shoots like a dream.

Thanks!

I need to take pics of the last couple I got. Sig MCX Gen 1 and Sig Legion P229 and P226.

Please do! The Legions are beautiful guns! The triggers/break on them is so good!

Still need to take pics of my Legions. The MCX is in a state of updating. Not happy with the flashlight I have with it. It’s just not bright enough for PID outdoors. Will prob slap on a Steamlight HL-X on a magpul offset mount and a tape switch.

This one is my latest obsession: LWRC DI with Trijicon MRO. Surefire x300u 1000 lumens. Scalarworks mount and back up irons. Magpul furniture (stock is a LWRC SOPMOD clone). I have about 2k rounds through it, so it’s broken in.

Yeah, it gives you all the accuracy and heat distribution of a heavy barrel without needless weight and adds faster cooling as well. I think it’s only 8oz heavier overall than a rifle with a pencil barrel.

It also has 100% ambi controls, even the bolt release and lock.

Legions

Legions with Sig MCX

Carried the P229 for almost two years before going back to Glock.

This is currently my “go tos”. I have this set in triplicate (one set for training, one set for defensive use, one set as a backup)

I also have a couple Colt M4s in the safe that have seen better days.

Gun ownership is a complicated subject. Suffice to say that I think that every responsible adult that wants one should have one. Shooting a gun is the most fun you can have with your pants on.

To use an analogy, you have life insurance, but you’ve never died and have no desire to do so.

Or a fire extinguisher. There are people who are more qualified to put out the fire than you, but when the stove is on fire and the fire dept is several minutes away, what are you going to go with?

For me it's a lot like the safety features on my car. I don't plan on an accident, but I want them there if someone else decides to be an asshole that day. If I knew I was going to be in an accident that day, I'd just stay home.

As for why I have so many, I've accumulated quite a few over years, and most sit in the safe. I am generally a pragmatist when it comes to firearms, but I've tried different platforms (eg the Sig Sauers are from when I was trying a different trigger mechanism because I thought it would suit me better) and never sold them off after I had moved on.

I also train a lot when time allows it. Firearms are perishable devices, so I try to keep my defensive guns separate from the guns that have a high round count.

Guns are cool, but they're a big responsibility. It takes a significant amount of effort to own a gun responsibly, and it takes a lot more effort to carry one.
