Thanks, @Graeme

I still like the main FF best. I think it's a more timeless and versatile design than Barakuda (I'm torn on the faux lume--I like it now, but would I forever, and the date window IMO calls too much attention to itself between the white field on the date wheel and the border), and the hands (I especially miss the red seconds hand tip), dial (I miss the chapter ring, dial markers, and white gold linings of the original), and brushed finishing of the case of the Nageurs de Combat fall short of the main model for me.

That said, both of those are beautiful, it's just that I think the main one is that damn perfect.
Think it, be it.

Glashutte Original also have done a range of diving watches, the SeaQ. I think that they're ISO 6425 certified, which is a rarity.

There's a limited edition vintage version.

"Glashutte Original SeaQ Limited"

And a regular production model with a panorama date.

"Glashutte Original SeaQ Panorama"

The latter uses the movement from the Senator Excellence, which has a hundred hour power reserve, silicon mainspring (so antimagnetic), and runs well within chronometer specs. The only problem is that prices start at €11,000, about the same as a Fifty Fathoms...

@mclaincausey I'm just giving you options. (OK, Blancpain are.) ;D

Daaaaamn I love the Glashütte the with the panorama. Usually they are a better value than that. Interesting bracelet construction.

I might have to check out that Glashutte when I'm in Vegas in a couple months. I'm not in the market for a new diver (still in love with my Omega SMPc nearly four years later), but the implementation of Arabic numerals on a diver is interesting. I've seen a couple other divers with big numerals on them before and they feel...puckered up. It's hard to explain but they feel like things are trying to escape into the center of the dial.
I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

It's crazy how much they borrow from FF. The black panorama looks like a blend of the FF and FF Bathyscaphe.
Think it, be it.

Those SeaQ are very nice. A bit too tall for my taste (>15mm), and I would like yo see a profile shot. Still, very nice. I would have loved to see a dateless version.

The date window on the panorama date watches I've seen in the past were often smaller than for those with the regular placement. I wonder how they did those to be bigger.

The bottom 2 Omegas are very nice. The FF does nothing for me...

@DougNg the Glashutte watches probably won't be out until September or October.

@mclaincausey I like the panodate model too. I suspect that the similarities to the FF are because both are based around the ISO standard, which was based on the Blancpain. And both designs date from about the same period.

Numerous ways to do it, probably something like this, @JDelage

Or my favorite, this Lange approach:
"Grossdatum-Illu-1-W900.jpg"
Panorama or big dates are in my experience almost universally larger than single date wheel dates though, that's the point.

Me+ alcohol+ this phone with internet are bad news. I almost blew my savings just now to buy a Tag Heuer Calibre 12. It's like the nicest watch I've ever seen. It's so blue and pretty. I've had one on twice at the Duty Free at the airport... Maybe next year. I need to save more money...

At $5400 retail, I think this one belongs in the other watch thread, Filthy. lol

@Filthy if you're interested in the Monaco, there are rumours that a fiftieth anniversary model is going to be announced next week. I'll no doubt post it in the other watch thread, so as to keep @scooter happy. :)

The other thing to look out for is the Bamford limited edition that Tag Heuer produced last year. It's got a carbon fibre case, so is black, which might match your wardrobe better. Unfortunately it's 50% more than the standard model, so will cause further damage to your savings.

Yes you're right. I was loaded yesterday. Sorry.

Wow that's nice. But there's no way I would pay $7000 for a watch. And I kind of had my heart set on the one pictured. But I would definitely be interested in seeing the one you're talking about next week. Maybe this means that the one I want will get even cheaper?

I requested this to be moved to the other intimidating watch thread.
