Tokyo (JP)
« on: December 16, 2010, 09:36:19 pm »
Any tips on where to go? I'll only be there for a few days so most likely not going to visit the garage in Hachioji.

On my list so far:
Moto
PBJ
Lakota
Unionworks

Appreciate any info/tips. Thanks!

I'm going to Japan for the first time in february. I'll be in Tokyo for at least a week and I'll visit Kyoto as well. Hachioji is a must-visit for me but I'm also looking for suggestions.

Shibuya is just a neighborhood inside Tokyo, although I reckon it could warrant its own guide...

Yes I am aware. G and I thought it would be wise to have a specific thread for it since there is a mass amount of information/ stores/ etc. Please feel free to make suggestions to me via PM if you are familiar with Japan, Tokyo, Shibuya, or wherever. Thank you!
RIP Geo

went to Ueno yesterday and shopped at Americaya and Hinoya.  So cool as all of the premium denim stores are lined right next to each other.  Everyone was super nice and I picked up a pair of SDA 21oz jeans.  I looked for some IH at Hinoya but they didn't have any western flannels and I get all my IH jeans from Giles.

I'm going to hit the SDA Shibuya store on Saturday.

Anyone got advice for how to embed google maps here? Pasting in the direct URL will display the map but only a small version.

Once I get this working I'll add some more spots. I'm assuming Shibuya means Shibuya ward which includes the Ebisu, Daikanyama, Shibuya proper, Harajuku and Jingumae neighborhoods.

I was able to hit the SDA store in Harajuku last Saturday night.  Harajuku in itself is a very nice shopping area.  I was able to pick up some kiddy bear blanket ponchos and toys for my sons.   The SDA store was very nice but they didn't carry anything that fit me on the top (pretty much the case in all of Tokyo).  I also checked out the Edwin store which was cool too.

Japanese Baseball is amazing! So much co-ordination, activity, and general buzz from the crowd. 3.5 hours of non-stop 'things' for players and runs etc. Goes SO far beyond the rally cap/sweep traditions.

Worth going to for anyone in Japan up for an experience, don't even need to like the game! (but it'll help).

http://www.japanball.com/tickets.htm is where I got our tickets from, delivered to the hotel.

Okay, next trip booked for Late May 2015. Going to miss all the denim tours and shows, was just when we could get leave.

3 weeks and with Mrs Snowy this time. Hiroshima and Sapporo on the list. Thoughts of Nagano/Kyoto for another trip in a different season there also....
