It was a bit of 5 am wine-influenced sentimentality... Although I will welcome next fall even more heartily than I usually do...

That being said, I need a cold god-dang beer  8) (And thank y'all.)

Hope you had a good cold one. Odd pairing tonight. One of my favorite stouts with my favorite cheap beer.

In other news, I've had a self imposed week off the beer to help ease myself back into 6am starts and working life, after seven weeks of holiday. Went to the monopoly today and dropped about $100 so I'm looking forward to Friday evening  ;D

Any new stouts in that batch? Don’t seem to recall you drinking many porters.

@neph. Not the same glass. I tend to sip my BA Stouts slowly and see how they evolve as temps rise. The Pabst fills in the gaps.

I like your style. I can’t remember what it was called but a mixed pint of Guiness and lager was a thing when I was 18 years old.

Black and Tan?
That’s the one! Christ, the crap we used to drink... snakebite, black and tan, shandies, there was a mix called a «pint of golden» too which may have been mild and lager together?

Oh Lord, that...

And Black Velvet too, which was guiness and cider where I lived but had other things in it other places.

Not everything was better before.

Half and Half.  In the Midlands that was half a pint of Mild (probably M&B) and half a pint of bitter (probably Ansells).....

Yes indeed. We had that too in the North West. Meaningless really, just a bland pint og brown-ness.

This has had me reminiscing about a night out in Birmingham when I was 18. I drank lots of Black Velvet at Edwards (seedy goth club by the Bullring), and ended up with my arse hanging out of a hedge row in Bourneville. Nasty.
