IHM-37-GRN - Oiled Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket - Army Green
An oiled version of our popular N1, giving improved water-resistance to the jacket. Due to the nature of whipcord and its reluctance to absorb, the heavy oiling of the fabric increases its weight from our standard 12oz to approximately 14oz.
The classic N1 deck jacket was first produced for the US Navy in the early 1940s. Much copied since then, it has become a true style icon in its own right. This Iron Heart version remains pretty true to the original jackets on the basis that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The one major, but unseen, change we have made is to add an additional interlining to increase wind resistance. A truly warm and great-looking winter jacket.

Identical to last season? seems like a different fit/length?
-
@JerkStore It's not exactly the same whipcord as last season, no. The pattern is the same, no changes from regular N1. It's worth noting that for this collection (and moving forward) images will be shot in 5:4 format to show the garments better, so the image might look a literal different to the 1:1 (square) format images you're familiar with currently

The colour is different from last season

Slowly but surely I'm becoming friends with the color of the jacket. Are there any other IH products that have used Whipcord in Army Green?
-
Thank you. The picture in the Lookbook is made from a real sample, right?
-
That's right @macguffin

Screenshot from the YT presentation. Here the green looks a little brighter and more colorful.

Hi All - when are these likely to land?
-
@pjw241142 soon hopefully, not ETA from Japan yet
-
@AdamJ Thanks for letting me know. Missed out on these last year so keeping my eyes peeled

Me too bro. I’ve spent weeks researching this jacket and am completely sold on it. My only hesitation is the sleeve length, but I’m confident a professional tailor can handle the adjustment if needed.
What are your measurements, and which size are you going with?
I’m all about a loose, laidback vibe, so I’m going for the XL—even though I could rock an L. Living above the Arctic Circle, I’ll probably want space for a hoodie or fleece underneath.
I’m 184 cm, 80 kg (6'0", 176 lbs) btw
-
@EastClintwood I bought one last year and I’m about the same size as you. 6’2” 175-180.
I went XL and there’s room to layer, but I find I never do … I run hot. This jacket keeps me plenty warm on the coldest of days with just a tee (or maybe a heavy weight tee) underneath.
-
@Brandrea Sounds good! I’m a bit skeptical any jacket can keep me warm at -35°C (-31°F) with just a T-shirt, though—that’s northern Sweden for you. That said, I much prefer a relaxed fit over the fitted second-skin look, though I understand that many (or most) people appreciate that style.
Edit: Saw your pics with the jacket. XL looks perfect on you.
-
@EastClintwood Thank you man! I love this jacket and I’m sure you’ll be super happy with it too.
Like I said I run hot. We don’t get many days in -30s but when we do, I’m wearing the mtn parka IHJ-75!
The N1 handles almost any normal Canadian winter day.
