Lando, that was excellent reading. From when I first encountered MF's designs around 3 years ago I always got the impression that whoever it was behind it (now I know it's Christophe Loiron) forged their own path. That kind of sensibility appeals to me, much like IH's does. Each approaches what they do with a solidity that isn't totally absent from the rest of the design community, but it's certainly not common. I'd like it even more it were common. I guess that's a long term goal.
-
Great piece, thanks.
What size is it pls Lando? (On the slim chance I can source one..)
-
Mine is a 42. PETEROCK has one as well.
-
Would really like to know if the story behind this SS collection is really true as it just seems a tad surreal…...then again truth is stranger than fiction.
-
hectic - Jared from MF said they're going to do them again this fall. want to say the lining will be a bit different but otherwise the same. i know i'll be snagging one. i'm sure Lando & PeteRock can tell you, that is one hell of a jacket. should last you a lifetime.
-
Thanks, nameness. I did email them and they did not mention this (but did confirm that the jacket was not currently available).
-
That's rad, Lando. I like a lot of the MF printed graphics on vintage gear, it's just hard to shell out for some reason. I did snag a sweatshirt a while back and cut off the sleeves…
-
YOU WHAT?!?!?! Why not just get a cheap crewneck and cut that? If you want to save cash, that does not seem like the best way to go about it… IMHO
-
Not worried about saving cash as much as my own weird mental balance system of spending the money for a sweat vs. a tee because I wreck tees. The sweatshirt was vintage and the cuffs were so short & tight they cut off circulation to my hands. Cut 'em off to make a short sleeve sweat, beach style. I know you've been to the store, they have a whole section of similar sweats that they've slashed up.
Mine:
-
Oh that looks great. For some odd reason I flashed on a cut off version as in no sleeves at all… My bad!
-
That Tee is rad…..
-
No worries dude, I did say I cut the sleeves off. Bad phrasing on my part.
Anyway, that is a dope shirt… the MF shop sources some great gear. Be interesting to see these 60s deadstock 5 pocket jeans that are coming.
-
Great 'T' Lando; I love the M.F. stuff shame they seem to cut it all so slim, i've got the 189 shirt unworn its just too tight all over even in XL
-
thinking about that denim vest
thanks lando for the update!
-
Deck jacket is in my sights…
