Really looking forward to visiting later this month while I'm in London. Mister Freedom is a great addition to the R&H range.

I was in London earlier today, so went to see if Danny was at the new Rivet and Hide HQ. He wasn't, but the shop is nearly there, and looking good.

Sorry I missed you, Graeme. See you there next week

Let me know when you're around to ensure I'm there.

Will do Danny. Passing through from the 29th April to 3rd May.

Rivet and Hide is nearly open…
I dropped by the shop today, and it's looking good. I'll be along tomorrow or Friday to see the finished product.
And the Mister Freedom shirt you can see on top of the yellow jackets on the shelf is gorgeous. If you fit into a Large then get in touch with Danny before he decides to keep it for himself.

Today Thursday 17th April we open our doors at 5 Windmill Street, London W1, in the Fitzrovia area of Central London.
It was always the plan to get to this stage. I had no idea how long it would take but we did it almost 2 years after launching on line and after a year of operating by appointment at the workshop. We wanted to create a space that our customers would want to visit, see the great brands in person, hang out if they wish and chat denim. We hope we have done that.
Robin, Ryan, and Rich have done a truly remarkable job fitting it out using reclaimed timber and beach Groyne wood for the flooring, shelves, fitting rooms, and storage units. Timber that has come out of 50-100 year old buildings the South East of England. Each plank is different in width and length. Cut, laid, and finished by hand to give a totally unique pattern and look.
The shelving in the shop is made up from reclaimed beach groyne Oak. The groynes have been standing for over 50 years on the beaches of East Sussex as a means of stopping coastal erosion. When the groynes are replaced, the old wood can be dried out and used again - they are sought after due to the distinctive patterns and colours found in them - formed from years of exposure to waves and weather. The shelves are hung on half inch thick hand forged steel brackets, that where made by a master farrier in East Sussex.
The steelwork was fabricated by hand in a workshop in East Sussex, and clad once in place in the shop, using specially selected timbers to compliment the flooring. Both fitting rooms are generously sized and feature a built in bench to allow customers to sit down in comfort to removed footwear. Lighting in the changing rooms is provided by vintage cast aluminium wall lights and we have placed 1930s factory lamps over the rails.
The rail is made from brushed steel and is a blatant rip of of the fabulous design invented by Self Edge (sorry, Kiya). I needed something to reflect the inspiration for Rivet & Hide. They hang from 1920 London street boulder chains.
Our normal opening times are Monday -Friday 1200 - 1900 and Saturday 1100 - 1900.
Over the Easter holiday we are opening:
Friday 18th 1200 - 1900
Saturday 20th 1100 -1800
Sunday 21st 1200 -1700
Monday 22nd 1200 - 1700Come and visit us and you'll be assured of a warm welcome.

Thanks for all the support and good wishes!

Looks fantastic Danny.
Great job. I particularly like those two chairs by the mirror. It's for catching ladies who swoon at a properly outfitted gentleman no doubt.
Good luck and next time I'm in London….boom! Visa won't know what hit it.

Looks great, looking forward to dropping by soon.
