Haven’t been carrying the camera for a while now, but I recently rediscovered an old Flickr account which had some (old) favourite shots…
You can’t beat the classics…waiting for some duck to restock to pair it with!
Massive thanks to @Freeman for his patience whilst I deliberated cuts and waist size. We got there!
Tarmac SL6 for me - for my previous bike, I built from the frame up (Far East carbon frame), but this thing is awesome, and a beautiful paint job. I can only marvel at what the latest iteration would be like to ride…
Excuse the background…
Not sure how well known Echo and the Bunnymen are outside of the UK, but for a musical child of the 80’s, this pre-tour warm in front of around 400 people was fantastic. I also bumped into a couple of old friends which made the night.
Unlike many frontmen these days, Ian McCulloch spoke at length between every song - unfortunately he mumbled in a very strong Scouse (Liverpool) accent, so none of us Southern softies understood a word he said…or at least I didn’t!
For reference, one of the greatest songs of the 80’s:
That (above post) was a few months before seeing what must have been the greatest (and wettest) Reading Festival lineup ever!
Happy days/daze - that’s me in the Rollins shirt.
it's impossible not to fall in love with them at that age.
True - but they grow up and run round muddy fields!!
Currently listening to their new album - Ohio Players - which came out last week. Was picking up Beck vibes, and just seen he co-wrote the song I was listening to…figures.
@Heavy_blue - hoping that this works out well for you - embrace the change - and hope that the new job goes well next week.
Must have been “hungrier than a bum in a G-string”!
(See the TV thread for the Deadloch reference).
A quote for every occasion…! 🫣
For some reason, “Hamburger stands, but no fucking hamburgers” (from Joan Crawford’s ****) sticks in my head to this day!
Not sure this is the right place to post, but hoping that no one has been impacted (directly, or indirectly) by the Baltimore Key bridge collapse.
Some Sonic Youth in there for sure…
Just catching up - this track (Gouge Away), first listen, definitely has a Sonic Youth vibe, although I’m hearing a (female-lead) Ride/shoe-gazing vibe as well.
Have you heard any of the New Kim Gordon album by the way…?
Massive thanks to @Freeman for his patience whilst I deliberated cuts and waist size. We got there!
I got tickets for November - first time seeing him in many, many years (more than I care to remember).
@JoshC @Matt - where does The Acolyte sit within the (viewing) timeline?
I’ve been blasting through The Bad Batch of late, only to find that the last few S3 episodes haven’t been released yet…doh!
Need to decide whether to go back and watch The Clone Wars (the series) or go forward and watch The Book of Boba Fett then S3 of the Mandalorian (I have seen S1 and S2).
I haven’t seen any of the other series yet.
@mhussy - I don’t know the current status, but the Camp Nou is currently be rebuilt, and Barça are playing home games at a different stadium in the city. Might be worth checking what the tour will and will not currently involve.
