And I've found the thighs to be fairly similar, I wear my jeans pretty slim so I can't really tell the difference, dunno if that helps at all

Be sure to use Iron Heart method and not BiG

See what other measurements, like thighs for example, fit you best, and base your decision off that

I highly recommend you do, the denim on these is amazing, assuming it hasn't changed from the first run. These are by far my favorites in rotation…and I remember after the initial soak they were pretty snug around the waist, but my measurements change from 32 to 33 depending on the jean

Having both, the rise is the biggest difference, I like the shorter rise on the 301s but it just depends. And yea what Anesthetist said, they are stiff as hell starting out and the fades did start to come in fast, but they take a little while to really break in

Jesus…4 new pairs of 25oz's, you my friend have taken on quite a challenge.
jeansman, i salute your knowing what you like & jumping in. . . . but you are crazy, hahahahaha
5 counting the ones I was wearing!
I'm always on a quest for the perfect pair of jeans, and now I've discovered 25 oz, may be I've found them (although I've already suggested a few modifications to Giles!)?
It usually takes a number of years for my jeans to fade, because I have a very large selection and so I don't get to wear each pair for long enough. My most faded pair at present are a pair of Valencia Street 1955 LVCs made in 1996. Luckily I can now wear jeans every day for work. Unless the 666 XHSs loosen up enough to avoid comment, I guess it'll be the 634 XHSs at work which I can alternate to air and not to wash. When I'm not at work, it'll be the tight 666 25oz. When they're tight I am compelled to go on wearing them to loosen them up!
Damn, breaking in 5 pairs of 25oz's, your legs are gonna give up on you….What else do you/have you had in your rotation on your quest for the perfect pair of jeans?

Yea, they should be fine, just treat them like any other pair of heavyweight raw denim, a week (or a few) of torture for months upon years of pleasure.
co-sign… those look amazing
Mine are on the way to me right now and I am trying to decide if I should do a pre-soak or not. I know they're sanforized but did any of you folks pre-soak?
Not necessary, when I washed mine after about a year, they wound up being very close to their original measurements
april 2014 shots cause after i wash these in another few weeks i think i'm gonna get them "fixed" & put away for the summer. hopefully after summer they fit me better than they do now. i'm getting fat as f^ck:
oh yeah i just over did it, but like i said i'm into these at the moment. if only vulcans had a smaller leg opening . . .
How long have you been wearing these, and how often do you give them a wash? They look amazing.
Any reason you chose to go with the visible arcs opposed to the other 555 models that are stealth? Thanks
Yea, I gave mine two soaks, 45 minutes in warm water, followed by another 30-40 in very hot water. Just wanted to make sure to get all the shrinkage out.
unfortunately yeap. i got thunder thighs & my pants hang low.
i think it's the way i'm built. now i just need to find denim with looser thighs that do not look sloppy & a smaller leg opening. . . .
The SEXIH22-301 is the way to go. I have huge thighs and my 555-01,555-02,and 555-03's all hang real low cuz of the size of my thighs. These new 301's are perfect, I highly recommend them.
Tried them but they somehow didn't agree with you. I might give them a go again but I'm an inpatient bastard. Jeans don't fit right I'm usually onto the next one pretty quickly. D666 told me give em some time so that's the only reason they still in my foot locker . . .
Sorry they didn't work out. Mine have since stretched .75 in the waist after less than a week of wear, so they're is some give in these jeans with wear, if your on the edge about them.
Thanks Thompsoa, that is super helpful! If you don't mind, would you be able to provide current waist measurements of your size 33? Would be good to see how much stretch they have after 2 soaks.
I have been wearing them everyday since last friday (even slept in them a few times to help the break in process) and they have stretched out .75 inches, so they're at 16.75 inches at the waist, and I'm assuming they will give a little more with some more wear.
Had these since March '13. About 8-9 months of actual wear. 1 soak about a month ago….I think I could possibly be the slowest fader out there
Got these March 2013, have about 8-9 months of actual wear. 1 soak about a month ago. I believe this puts me in the running for the slowest fades award
That's so strange that you guys are having that issue because with me it's the opposite. I sized the same for my 555-01s and sized 33 on my 555-02's (post shrinkage of the 301's). The thigh is slightly fuller as are the legs, however not by much. The low rise makes it so the jeans fit better and higher in the crotch area, so they don't hang low, causing the distress to the crotch. Wonder why my experience is so much different than yours… Well sorry, I hoped that suggestion would be of some help but I guess that was already tried.

I have a 32 in the 555-01 and I bought these in a 33. They shrank (after two soaks) an inch in the waist which measured them out to a 16, when I'm about a 17 inch waist. I got blisters on my thumb and pointer finger buttoning these up the first couple of times, however that was due as much to the shrinkage of the button holes as the actual fit. I've now worn them for 5 straight days and they fit near perfect, so they have stretched a little and will probably stretch a little more. IMO, the fit is perfect. Hope this helps
