IHSW-02 Flat Seamed Plain Hooded Sweat
-
Out of curiosity: are these loop- wheeled? (since the tees have been loop-wheeled as of lately…)
-
don't think i would change a thing on these, patiently waiting.
-
first impressions, improved quality to the previous model, fit is different and better imo, sleeves are thight and perfect for layering this way, but might cause trouble if you are going to wear much under it or have Hulk forearms. Hood is less bulky, whole sweat feels slightly thinner while wearing, but its not washed (or lets say the other hoodie I have here is washed) and the characteristics might change. Seams and rearside much smoother and of a better quality.
overall a nice piece, but still with room for improvements (like double zipper, different hood design to improve the fit and to actual make it more useable, if you ever need to)
And dear Haraki, remember our breakfast talking in Gosport about the higher zipper, please consider that idea ;)…

different hood design to improve the fit and to actual make it more useable
yep, have to second that. This hood was just too small and too pointed. the forum sweat had one of, if not the best hood I have ever seen- and I use a hood a lot, what with having no hair and all.
It seemed to me that the fit of the body didn't match the arms, in that the arms felt like a BR sweat, so the body could have been tighter and shorter ie: a more vintage fit.did I see a pic a while back of M'dme B wearing a grey sweat that looked like IHSW-18/19?
is that style of sweat done with?oh, and that navy good Rocket. you wear it well sir.

Paula has a IHSW-01, did you mean that one?

and yes I see there some discrepancy in the design of the arms versus the body as well, but that works for me ok…

perfect in all it's imperfections. like a hoodie from back in the days that wasn't too technically advanced, but fit right looked good & you wore until the hood fell off & the zipper broke. every rock(it) said above is true (two way zipper more functional hood, higher zipper to protect from the elements) but i wouldn't change her . . . then again i am mAd

rocket…monday...dope.
What size did you get monday???
Cris.
-
looks good Monday…I must have a bloody huge head.
Rocket - I'm (not) sure Paula was wearing a just a grey hoodie...hmmm.I'm often wrong, just sad this didn't work for me. -
i went with XL & the fit is good. not tooo tight but not overly baggy.
i think you can do thess cris (got my fingers crossed for you)
-
^ Thanks man, I got an XL in Black, if its snug, it'll stretch like my other sweats, so I'm not Sweatin it, haha.

Hey G,
Studio d'Artisan also has sweats which they call "Wakayama special edition" (link)… I know Wakayama is just a place where a lot of loopwheel fleece is made so maybe the name is generic but curious do you know are they different fabrics?SDA's "Wakayama" sweats & hoodies are loop-wheeled as SDA always puts a few of these items in their range each year. Usually, Wakayama is used as a synonym for loop-wheeled in Japan. Getting loop-wheeled knits in Japan outside of Wakayama is very unlikely as hardly anybody else in Japan owns these machines anymore - TFH being one of the known exception.
G replied to my earlier question with a 50/50 possibility here…
Regarding the difference in knits: based on the old hoodies I have seen from IH - they are circular weft knits manufactured on circular knitting machine in the form of a tube. These tubes can be cut open and then turned into tees or hoodies. For tees without side seems these tubes have specific diameters for specific sizes.
From the point of forming the loops in circular knits and the mechanical principles loop-wheeled knits (using ancient machinery by modern standards) and modern day weft/circular knits are technologically the same and can have the same appearance. It is unlikely that you or I will be able to tell the difference... -
It seems to me it's more bloody likely for you to see the difference… :-[
