I don't trust the tracing method - seriously.
me either… it has led to great/ expensive dissappoinment in my experience and will never do it again.

Okay, this worries me. What's the alternative? Visit Victoria?

unless I can get fitted properly, when I purchase online i ask for "wall to toe" measurements and across the widest part of the sole and compare against an an owned well fitting pair of boots measurements… I know this is not fool proof but I have used it for the last several pairs of boots I have purchased and it has treated me very kindly. Many others use this method including VintageEngineerBoots as well as John Lofgren when trying to fit you via the interweb. Again, im sure it is not fool proof, when ordering footwear via the web what is?, but it has yet to let me down

A shade or two darker now, still nappy, more weather and stain resistant in theory; three light dousings with obenauf's water based silicone spray, punctuated by hour long cures:
I'll update through winter. We'll see if they need further treatment with this or other products.

Did the price at one point go up by $50 USD?

What's the significance of the white lug on the sole? I know that a red lug represents a sole specifically optimised for fire-fighting, but can't find any info about the white.

what last are these on and how does it compare to the wild ones last? I know the measurements on an 11 would have been perfect for me… but am really considering the wild ones

Guys honestly sorry for such a newb question but I really don't know anything about suede.
With proper care will it really last as long as "regular" leather? (I know it's all leather- I don't know terminology).I assume these Vibergs are top notch quality skins, but still, what's the deal? Wear them in all elements just the same? I understand suede to be more porous that's why I ask.

Suede is a split skin, these are roughout, where the flesh side of the skin is on the outside. So it's thicker.
I lightly sprayed Obenauf's silicone water resistance spray on mine and did nothing else. I brush them periodically. You can "dub" them with wax or some other leather protector but it will affect the look.
A lot of forum members think you should just leave roughout alone and just brush it.
