Pocketknives/Kitchen Knives/Fixed Blades

They look very familiar…can you get me a close up of the blade stamp?
-
I gotta talk to Shoque about a "duh" smilie…
-
Always been big on knives as well, decided to buy some to use at work. They had to be small and automatic, so I got these. Both are PRO TECH x BÖKER collabs, both ltd and #/100.
After having seen your pics, I decided to attach the clip on them again.
ProTech Stinger. Mother of pearl opening button. Black ProTech Runt. You can see how small they are in comparison to a pack of chewing gum

Gerber is crappy in my opinion, they have a lot of QC issues. I had one with a liner lock that failed constantly and I just had enough of their bullshit. The knife I had wasn't even one of their cheaper ones either, it was designed by Rick Hinderer and was their flagship knife for the year
Looks like you got a couple slipjoints, so there won't be any lock failure since there isn't a lock, but I can already see the gaps between the bone and the bolsters in your pics, which is bullshit. But for 10 bucks, I wouldn't sweat it.
Next time you have 12 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, look up the Kershaw Half Ton. Better steel, better lock. Not as pretty necessarily, but it's got Kershaw's QC and tolerances. Great little knife for just working, not showing off

I love my Gerber..super light, razor sharp and really great price…can't go wrong for 10 bucks..

Currently carrying a Caswell In Line EDC with Damasteel blade, Titanium liners, Black G10 bolsters and Ranger Green G10 scales:

I'm thinking about buying that first knife Doug posted, the C Reeves sebenza. I'd buy a small one, though.
Doug: can you recommend me an online store perhaps?.. I would have a mate receive it for me, and ship it to me, since most US stores don't ship internationally…
-
newgraham.com has always been good to me. Or you can go to chrisreeve.com directly. Their prices are the same everywhere, I've never seen a CRK at a marked down price or discount
I do love the CRKs…and the Sebenza is my all time favorite knife. I always have one close by
Let me know how it goes. There are lots of choices, so please feel free to ask me for any thoughts/advice
-
330 $ is not a bad price. Might have it partially serrated though.
Yours is the standard one, right?.. I don't want any wood or other crap on it. Damascus blade is tempting but pointless seeing as I will use it for work. Or doesn't it affect that?..
-
I actually have one with blue calf inlays. My small sebenza is my dress carry knife.
I'm not a big fan of serrations. They're a pain to sharpen. A properly sharpened knife will cut through rope just as efficiently
The damascus crk uses is devin thomas damascus. Its the best in the business. Damascus has its pluses and minuses. But basically, its just for looks. Any cutting advantage is nominal and disproportionately small compared to the price. S30V is a great steel for a knife
And I think most people prefer the ones with a micarta inlay for a work knife. It adds grippiness. Its not worth the added thickness for me though
-
Still on the fence about the measurements, even of that small Sebenza. 17 cm opened = 5 cms too big for me… He probs doesn't do custom work?.. ::)
-
No, he doesn't do customs…you want a 2" blade???
-
Yep, 2" blade. 5" total length. Just like my Pro-Tech Stinger.
-
You might want to check out the kershaw leek, scallion or chive.

Benchmade 943… sadly recently stolen. Am fiending like a mofo for a chris reeve sebenza...
Awesome choice! I got my first Sebbie years ago, and that led to a small sebbie with blue calfskin inlays, then an Umnumzaan, then a Profeessional Soldier, and then a rare Nkonka…Chris Reeve is a nice chunk of my knife collection
The Sebenza is one of a handful of knives I would never let go though. That being said, I've been carrying my Umnumzaan for months
