Saw a pic, and all I can say is holy shite!

EvilCrayon is a lunatic, he wore them all year, and I think he lives in Singapore or somewhere else insanely hot. We're very proud to have him in the HWDC, his efforts, along with those of Kybosh, Dingo, Beatle and others make up for the poor progress of layabouts like me and Rafa

Those look beautiful!

So I was close then
Most places are hot compared to where I live

So creepy stumbling across this thread but I thought I'd add a little insight into the jeans.
I've had them for nearly 1 year and 8 months now and they're my only pair of jeans so they are worn every single day with the exception of 2 or 3 days a month. The paraffin coating has pretty much been "used up" as they're not as waterproof as they once were. I did manage to go snowboarding with them and with some long underwear on, they were more than adequate. I tried not to sit down or eat it that day so that might have helped. I've taken them camping a lot and they're perfect with my Danner Mountain Light IIs (I stood in the campfire for 30 seconds and only melted my boot laces). I've had about 3 accidents on 2 wheels with them and they've held up fantastically. Lots of hiking but no swimming in them yet although they've gotten completely soaked more than a few times. The flannel lining always dries twice as fast as the denim. Compared to my previous 301s, the fading characteristics look and feel a lot softer. Mostly due to the looser cut but also because the flannel lining doesn't allow for such sharp and settled creases.
As far as repairs go, I've had a few areas fixed such as the left knee and there's a handful of tears/rips/holes that have developed over the past couple months. The flannel lining is a hate/love relationship when it comes to repairs. It's mighty difficult to hem but repairs are a lot stronger since they have an extra layer of flannel to reinforce the darning.
I've gotten to the point where even normal 21oz denim from Iron Heart feels thin and my legs get cold in anything but the x634sx. My first soak was at 6 months and then I would handwash and sometimes machine wash every 3 months.

EC, great description. Thanks for sharing that. I don't think we will ever see another pair of these as beat as yours. Cheers brotha.
And this shit made me crack up…

May I ask whether you live in a very cold climate or a very hot or just temperate climate?
Are these jeans suited only to very cold weather (where it snows) or can they be worn in tropical climates like Singapore, Malaysia etc?
Thanks.
-
probably the worst warm weather jeans ever created to be more specific.
-
Quite. It's FLANEL LINED heavy weight jeans…
-
And parafinn wax coated. Sounds ideal for a tropical climate innit!..
