IHSH-251-RED - 9oz Selvedge Flannel Check Work Shirt – Red/Dark Indigo
-
Just did the cold washing, without spin, for about 30 minutes on this shirt and left it to hang dry. A bit disappointing is the amount of shrinkage that I got, especially on the sleeve length. The sleeve is now 58.5cm against 63cm on the official charts. I'm not sure what might happen after subsequent washes! Hope it does not shrink any further!
-
Did you measure the arm length before the wash? I'd be stunned if you did get 4.5cm shrinkage in the arm. Either your measuring method is different from ours, so you are not measuring apples with apples, or the shirt you got had an arm length significantly less than 63cm to start with….
I've never heard of any of our shirts, let alone a one-washed shirt getting than much shrinkage even on a hot wash...

You have to measure the actual sleeve length pre-wash/post-wash rather than compare the post-wash measurement to the sizing chart. The most shrinkage i've gotten out of shirt sleeves was when I warm washed a couple of my UHF's – I saw 0.5 inches of shrinkage at best.

The guys in this thread pose some good points but feel free to drop me an email or pop on live chat if you want to discuss anything further.
-
I gave mine a lukewarm handwash with Woolite liquid detergent. No shrinkage at all for me.
-
Really cool color of red and the darkest indigo I've ever seen. The selvedge details add so much awesomeness–esp inside the cuffs!

Nice fit @Dishelveled
I just received the last Large they had after having to return the western version in a medium, looked very small on me. Fabric is of course really top-notch
I'm liking it but rarely choose a Large. Sleeves are a touch baggier, and the shoulders are a bit wider than I like. Maybe a hot wash will do the trick?
-
Start low, cause you can always bring the heat later. Length tends to be the most noticeable difference. Per the vets advice that I've got avoid the dryer untill you really need it. And from the looks a warm wash will be golden. (Side note: pics makes you nik pik, and tend to distort reality, and a dialed in fit off the bat makes you fret any wash) Good luck, brother

This arrived today, Germany IH had one in my size.

@el camino score! Another beauty that got away. I have decided Craig Finn was right about IH shirts when he said, «You can’t get every
girlshirt, but you’ll love the ones you get the best». -
8:58 - Checks IH board, "Oh look, a thread from my IH hiatus time."
9:00 - "Oooh, I remember liking that one"
9:05 - "Hmmm, wonder what size IH Germany still has….I'll just take a look..."
9:10 - XXL on order.Sigh...the IH forum strikes again...
-
Sweet Score @el camino and nicely done @tvenuto !

Just landed, freaking love it. Thanks @Iron Heart Germany

Thank you too and have a lot of fun with it!

Great shirt and color combination. The last greats are slowly disappearing.

Man, if anyone has this in an xl for sale, I’d greatly appreciate it! The western (247) xl is slightly too small and xxl slightly too big.
