RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
A cozy fleece jacket (I edited the photo of an existing green Patagonia jacket below as a mock-up/example to illustrate what I mean):
- turquoise like the IHSH-287-TUR
- high pile fleece
- double vertical zippers, zipped side pockets, inside pockets, two way zippers
- full cream, black or orange hardware contrast details

Found a photo of my old pair of 634S on my phone which I no longer wear (but still have) ever since converting to exclusively wearing 888s:

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
Sat down and made a tutorial video explaining how to fix a pulled thread / snag in (Sashiko) fabric. Hope it'll help others!
(Also produced my own soundtrack to prevent any music-related copyright issues )

RE: Random Announcements
I love how every time I go on my own profile, my "best post" (most upvoted post) on the forum is shown as me comparing the Iron Heart Rubber Coin Case to the Babybel cheese:

RE: Double Helix
@ZackB Yep, I'm glad I went for this size, but I would have preferred a slightly longer front length unlike many who like their type III jackets on the short side. If I went for a smaller size than this on the Double Helix jacket, it would be too tight in the chest, shoulder, naval and opening areas. And if I went for a size larger than this, most noticeably the sleeve length would be too long and possibly also the chest area would be too big (= buttons will be closer to button holes when the jacket is worn unbuttoned, if that makes sense).
Also keep in mind that I almost always go for tag size "S" on the IH type III jackets which translates to size "36", and I went for tag size "38" on the Double Helix jacket which is at the larger end of tag size S, or at the smaller end of tag size M as far as I know. But when buying anything Iron Heart, I never go by tag size anyway and always go by measurements. So comparing tag sizes between the two brands and their products wouldn't yield any reliable and satisfactory results or make any sense.
Also, with Double Helix, a) you may not be able to find a size chart at all on your chosen retailer's product page, b) if you do, they may not/probably won't be as accurate as IH measures, and c) if you decide to blindly trust the size chart on Double Helix's own product page, the actual jacket you receive might end up being smaller than what they state in their size chart as was for example in my case - but in my case, luckily to my advantage.

RE: Double Helix
@ZackB No worries, glad I can be of help since there isn't any information available out there, if anything, on this particular model.
I found a fit check post of mine from 2019 in the IHJ-69 thread. Below is a comparison of the IHJ-69 (right) vs. Double Helix Western Pioneer P Horsehide Suede Jacket (left) - but keep in mind that the body proportions differ between the two photos:

RE: Double Helix
@ZackB Thanks! I can only compare this jacket to IH type III jackets since I have five of them - each either made of a different fabric or a different colour.
Generally, I'd describe the fit of the Double Helix type III jacket as "boxier" in comparison. For example, the arms are noticeably looser than the arms of IH type III jackets, and they also don't taper as aggressively as IH Type III jackets do - especially towards the sleeve opening. The rest of the jacket fits almost exactly like an IH type III jacket would fit me in the same tag size - perhaps the front length is ever so slightly shorter (ca. 1-1.5cm) on the Double Helix, and the naval area isn't as much tapered as IH type III jackets tend to be.
Overall, if I had to pick an IH type III jacket that the Double Helix jacket fits closest to, I'd say the IHJ-69 which I have in brown (discontinued) and khaki. In terms of style, I could have went for the IHJ-49-BRN instead of this, but the Double Helix is, with its 0.8mm thickness, significantly (!) lighter and thinner; is more pliable, has a way nicer brown tone and it's also made of an insanely soft horsehide which almost even feels like sheepskin vs. the steerhide on the IH version.
Fun fact: I actually went for this jacket, because it reminds me of my IHJ-69 in brown (although the Double Helix comes in a way deeper and richer brown tone) which apparently my girlfriend decided to gift herself. So the Double Helix jacket will now be mine, and my brown IHJ-69 will be hers.

@cityofdelusion 0.8mm suede brown horsehide? Couldn't resist, so here we are.
And here's a bad quality fit photo:

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
Is it possible to single or double brush duck fabric (e.g. IH-256J or the new IHJ-147-BRN) and achieve a similar texture as the inside of e.g. UHFs or moleskin?
