IH-725-KHA - West Point Shorts - Khaki

The stock does not decrement until the actual purchase is completed. Just placing an item in the shopping vart does not decrement stock.
What must have happened is that someone purchased them, then we refunded the order, perhaps they realised they would not fit when we reached out to them to check, which is a normal part of our shipping process.

Ok, so just got home to start trying on my haul. Started with these. Could I get thoughts on fit from the IH hivemind?
With the sizing chart I always thought these would be touch and go in the thigh and top-block, and I might be right. I have squatter’s thighs which usually touch when i stand naturally. They’re quite snug in the thigh - for comparison my 888-21s have stretched out to 14’ in the thigh, which is comfy, whereas these are just that half an inch tighter. To get these over my thighs and butt I’m having to wear them quite high (waistband at the top of my hip-bones), and I can feel the inseam right up in my craw. This is somewhat uncomfortable moving about, especially once I fill my pockets with my usual EDC.
I’m thinking this might be alleviated with wear if, for example, the fabric gives a bit and yields a bit of space in the top block, and/or the waistband gives a bit so I can wear them a little lower. Or if that nub of fabric where all the stitching meets softens up so it no longer bothers me. Or if I just get used to it. Can anyone with experience of these weigh in?
Sorry for the over-analysis of a pair of shorts, but these things ain’t cheap and the only thing worse than clothes you don’t wear are nice clothes you don’t wear and wish you liked more!

@EdH Personally, I like my shorts to be comfortable right out the box and it sounds like you are not getting much comfort from these so I would say you might end up never falling in love with them. I think if you were able to wear them a bit lower they may work better for you but if you can't then they might not be the ones

look pretty snug across the boys.
-
Yup, tried them on again today just to be sure, definitely too tight between the legs. A shame, because they’re otherwise spot on what I wanted. But like @Graham said, you want them comfy right out the box. There’s probably a season left in my pair of GAP shorts before I blow that crotch out anyway

@Mizmazzle There's a Japanese seller on eBay currently offering these in various sizes!
-
No I have not. But with the buyer protection from both eBay and Paypal, I certainly wouldn't hesitate.

Does anyone have experience hemming these to a shorter length? Thinking an 8" inseam versus 10" in my respective waist size. Main concern is the pocket bags being too deep and therefore poking out below the hem. Any intel would be appreciated.

Which waist would you be looking at? I have a size 36 and could turn them inside out and give you some measurements.
-
Perfect match! I would be looking at size 36.
-
chicken leg alert! and some inside out measurements (divide by 2.54)

Greatly appreciated and very helpful. Definitely looks like they could accept a shorter hem length without any problem with the pocket bags. Thank you!

Hey @Bums_Fan did you ever end up hemming? I dropped into Berkeley Supply in Denver yesterday. My lady bought me an early B day gift of an IH zipped hoody. Thing is bad ass btw.
Got to talking to Eli there about a wedding on the beach we’re going to and how I’m in need of some khaki shorts but not being able to find any nice ones. He’s like, well, I have this old box over here in the corner from before they moved to the new shop…”think there is some shorts in there…”
Boom!!!! Pulls out 4 pairs of these IH khakis!! What!!!?? I’ve been on the hunt for a couple months and just happened to drop in there by chance. Best part is he gave them to me for $100!! That shop is amazing and Eli is an incredible dude!Long story short, I want to hem these too haha

@Mizmazzle short story, I have not. Longer story, I was asking previously in anticipation of purchasing these when they restock later this spring. Based on the pictures @tody shared, I will definitely feel comfortable hemming them to a short length. I am thinking 7-8" inseam on waist size 36. Hope this helps.

PS...nice score on the shorts at Berkeley Supply!
