The day before we left for Christmas holiday, we had a 60ft water oak that was draped over our house cut down.

It finally opened up a section next to our house for a small garden and walking path into the back yard.

Today, was all about getting the area cleaned up so we could figure out how to design the space.

Said tree trunk with 634 SRs:

I’ll snap some cleaned up photos once we finish tomorrow morning

Shame to loose the tree, but it looks like there are plenty of others in the area, plus I can see how it is going to open up the space...

Hiring a stump grinder ?

Yeah, while we didn’t want to cut it down, it was around 40 years old and already dying. It would have either fallen in a controlled manner by us, or on top of our roof haha

Not sure what we are going to do with it. We kind of want to do something neat with it as the root structure is insane.

Definitely was able to get the space cleared:

Don’t mind the creepy abandoned house next door. Hoping he will just sell it to me for cheap If I keep cleaning his yard lol
