RE: Fit check
@jiminstitches that fit looks spot on.
If it feels good then you’ve found shirt nirvana.

RE: Fit check
@jfk1117 I’ve noticed that too.
From what I remember he wears a Mediums or larges in many IH jackets and tops, whereas I wear XL XXL, and we are about the same build.
He definitely likes a slimmer fit, and I guess we are all shaped differently and have different preferences as to fit.
I like a bit more wiggle room in my clothes as long as they don’t look oversized.

RE: Let's talk Design! Product, graphic, UX/UI, experience, furniture, architecture, etc.
I’ve always had a soft spot for classic designs. We bought this Eames Chair back in the early 90’s. It’s my go to spot to read a book of just have a nap.

RE: Size comfy or stretch to fit?
I buy my jeans to fit comfortably. I measure the IH way, and my waist is 17.5”. When I”m buying I look for 17.5-17.75” in the waist. I don’t have diaper butt either lol.
I’ve not seen any noticeable stretch with any of my IH denim (4 pairs of 634’s, 2 pairs of 666’s) and I reckon that’s because they aren’t under alot of tension to begin with.

RE: Learning moments in my denim journey
I need to do this as well. Set a budget and learn to separate wants and needs.
I did a better job of that this year, but still need to exercise more self control. IH just has so many nice things …
EDIT: and of course there’s the “What are you wearing” thread which is the ultimate enabler.

RE: Learning moments in my denim journey
@ARNC I’d very much like to adopt this line of thinking going forward.
I have to admit, that when I first discovered this forum, I had a feeling of missing out on certain items when they are launched. I mean, I like the majority of new releases so it’s difficult to narrow it down. Especially when you’re new to this whole thing. Combine that with not having bought new cloths in literally a couple, of decades and it’s a recipe for over consumption lol.
What tends to happen is that I hover over my size and see the stock dwindling before me very eyes and I say fu*% it, and I’d hit the buy button.
I need to adopt a more thoughtful approach because I just end up with 3 of a certain item in different colors, (not that there’s anything wrong with that I guess).

RE: Learning moments in my denim journey
As far as my denim in journey goes.
I’m very new to the world of selvedge denim and the like. I’d say for me, my mistake (if you can call it that) was to buy too much all at once instead of going a bit more slowly and enjoying each piece for what it is.
I have a bunch, and I mean a bunch of stuff I’ve barely even worn (some still have the tags on). I’m not sure why this is….
I think I need to learn how to find that happy medium between want and need. Inevitably, my right brain tells me I “need” everything lol.

RE: Learning moments in my denim journey
@goosehd was this in Arthur at the Toronto School of Parachuting?
My buddy and I did the same back in the late 80’s. The first fella to jump landed and broke his leg. The very next day, sadly, someone died. I believe the chute was packed incorrectly…
There was a half day of “training” and they basically let anyone who had a pulse jump. Looking back it was a stupid thing to do, but when you’re much younger ….

RE: IHSH-386-RED - 5oz Selvedge Short Sleeved Western Shirt - Red Vintage Check
I just posted in your other thread (green) and see you bought the red as well
Fit is such a personal thing isn’t it? Feel however is not. If an item of clothing feels too tight in a certain area, that feeling is not likely to go away IMHO. Otherwise, I’d say the fit looks good on you. Maybe without a tee shirt you get a little more room to maneuver…
I have exactly the same issue with some shirts… too small in the chest, or too baggy in the body.
You might reach out to the IH team and have them take some actual measurements of the XXL for you. I was surprised how much difference there was between the measurements and the size chart.

RE: IHSH-386-GRN - 5oz Selvedge Short Sleeved Western Shirt - Green Vintage Check
IMO it looks decent, and maybe without a tee underneath it would give you a tad more wiggle room?
I had the same problem, I finding the right fit in the green which was my first choice. I had to switch to the red as the measurements just works out better for me. I’m right between an XL and XXL in size.
The chest is a bit tight but if I sized up the body would be too baggy.
I had Josh measure a few and I was surprised by how much difference there was between the posted sizes and the actual measurements.

RE: Himel Brothers Leather Co.
@Mizmazzle Thanks so much for that, and what you say makes complete sense.
Your jacket looks absolutely terrific on you, nailed the fit!

RE: Himel Brothers Leather Co.
@goosehd same question to you … how do you find this pattern for mobility?
Looks great on you btw!

RE: Himel Brothers Leather Co.
@Mizmazzle I realize this is a very old thread … but I thought I’d keep the topic alive.
How do you find the jacket for mobility? Can you button it up and still raise your arms to parallel (ish)?
I owned a Himel Imperial but sadly it had to go as it was too snug (my fault not David’s). Now I’m thinking a different style and the Canuck in the dark Shinki brown is calling .
